DIII Outdoor Nationals 2010

There had been rumors that the wind readings were changed. Results went up with 6+ readings then they came down and went up with wind readings that would allow for qualification marks. Nobody can question them because the McMurry coach is on the D3 committee.

I am so proud of the runners/field event athletes from Carroll University. Our men 4 x 100 & 4 x 400 made it to the finals, Amanda Trieoff is a national champion in the Javlien, Becca Grafenauer got 18th place in the Pole Vault and Megan O'Grady got 5th place in the 10K so far.

100 prelims just posted. Neither McMurry guy made the final.

That is a little interesting that none of McMurry's guys have come close to their qualifying performances.

NCC looks to have the meet wrapped up with just their first day performances.

Some points in the steeple would've provided some breathing room. Will be interesting to see how many they get from the 5000.

The 100m in D-III has been a joke the last few years. Half the field is filled with guys that don't deserve to be there. A lot of these guys only qualified because they had 3.0+ wind readings, and then blow up and go 10.8-10.9 or even higher at the meet.

No one should get in just because of a wind-aided time. Took a 10.8 to get in finals both this year and last year.. what a joke.

Yeah the only question in the 100 is: how much does Headley win by?

The only question in the short sprints in general is: does Headley get the double win?

Safe bets are .2 seconds and yes.

Headley probably won't win the 200. The 200 is full of legit sprinters.. including Woodruff who went 20.8 in prelims.

The 100 is a joke though. Headley will walk all over that field by at least .2, maybe even .3.

The reason I think Headley is a safe bet for the double is because he's racing with that fire. Bad taste in the mouth after not going undefeated in indoor. He's run away with literally every race he's run this year, including his 200 qualifying heat. It'll be interesting to see what competition in the 200 will bring out. That Championships record will probably be lowered again.

what was that runoff thing all about in the women's 100h?

since McMurry is not all they're cracked up to be, i'm hoping Salisbury sneaks in for a possible top 3, maybe even 2nd

Spriggs qualified 2nd in the 100 and 3rd in the 200

and Corey Beebe who will hopefully win the 110 and 400 hurdles

200m final is going to be great! Headley and Woodruff ran head to head at the ECAC meet and Headley won it. Both guys are hitting their strides... it's all down to who wants it more!

400m final should be very good as well. Eaton will be fresh after only running 48.14 to win his heat. Reschke has already posted 46 this season. Justin Allen and Dan Dunkleberger shouldn't be far behind.

My understanding is there was a protest filed related to the fact that 2 girls had the exact same times in the prelims and were tied for 8th so they had a run-off between the two.

Great job by Kim Chinn taking 2nd in the steeplechase and breaking the B-W school record with a 10:30. This was her first year running the steeple!

Amid many impressive performances all weekend there was Jacqui Wentz of MIT. First in the steeple (D-III season best), second in the 4x400, and fifth in the 1500. Quite impressive range. Has anyone pulled off that triple before with three AA certificates?

Also, Lawton is a beast. As are the NCC boys.

How about the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC).

MIT finishes 4th and Springfield and Wheaton finish tied for 5th. Has to be considered the strongest D3 conference in the country for the men this year.
