This must have been what it was like 61 years ago when Ryun was hanging with the grown men and made the Olympic team after his high school junior year. Special to watch!
Geesh, fast start and fast overall. Thought the Worlds team would come from that pack of 4 who led. Thought Miller was out of it AND Hoey was going to win it before the last curve. Then I thought maybe Miller was back in it for a second and Hoey would still make the team even if not win. Did not expect the 16-year old to come from behind and didn't expect Hoey to fade that much. Great race. Brazier - wow.
No shade but sort of happy Josh didn’t make the team. He’s been going too hard for too long. He went out too hard and had nothing left.
Colin DFL. But I seriously think in a few years he will be a big contender in the 800-1500, eventually 5000.
I think these guys are more likely medalists, shocking as it might be to say. Hoey in a 2 big Q semi scares me. Can easily see something like today where he gets it wrong from the front. Brandon Miller meanwhile, was a disaster tactically per usual. He had a questionable cut-in on Sahlmam he got away with. On the backstretch of a race out in 49 he moved out inexplicably and got double-passed. So bad.
I literally have tears in my eyes, I can't process WHAT JUST HAPPENED HOLY.
My mind is glitching like I am texting everyone I know trying to tell them what I just witnessed. I am so glad I witnessed that race in life time. I felt like such a nerd like wanting to cry for joy for DB. Can you imagine the mental fortitude of having it all, losing it all, and having to rebuild back to it and doing it in this competitive of a field? So happy for him. Roisin and DB are my roses of this final day.
