WTF: American Matt Richtman 2:07:56 to WIN LA Marathon

The prize money for LA is very small now. The only pros who show up are Pros like Richtman who are sponsored by Asics, because Asics is the sponsor of the race. I imagine they get some guaranteed money by being there instead of running their marathon somewhere else. It's basically a baked in win for an Asics athlete. This year however he actually put up a great result.

2025 Los Angeles Marathon did not obtain World Athletics certification and Matt Richtman will not be eligible to represent Team USA/USATF at the 2025 World Athletics Marathon Championships on September 14th in Tokyo, Japan.

I think he was supposed to run Chicago but got injured.
