Why on earth this huge focus on the negativity here? Armstronglivs’ bold predictions about Jakob losing and never being able to true greatness give, IMO, a interesting layer to the whole thing -in addition to watch Jakob succeed I will then also get to watch Armstronglivs eat crow. Hilarious!

I totally agree that having people with differing views is great for the discussion.
The problem is not his opinion. It's the way he expresses it; he is always the negative one, always focusing on what Jakob can't do, and he is always starting arguments and insulting others. I have never tried to turn him into a supporter of my opinions. I just find his behaviour obnoxious. Even more so when he insulted my teenage daughter. He has stated that he only comes to Letsrun to rile other people up. If you think that's a good thing...
To rile other people up is a good thing, especially when they are intolerant and self righteous. And don’t take him too literally -of course he has his heroes in the sport, and of course he enjoys a lot here, f.x when Jakob is being beaten, and his preferred athletes wins.
Sorry, your criteria don't meet what defines the all-time greats. They held the wrs as well as a consistent record of victories in the biggest championships. He's had too many losses at that level.

Mo Farah isn't an all time great according to Armys definition because he didn't win a single global final from 1999 to 2011.

Round and round your mulberry bush. Farah has global titles in the 5k that Ingebrigtsen will never have. That overrules everything else in the comparison. He also doesn't make it to the all-time greats in the 1500/mile because he keeps losing and doesn't have the records over the distance.

I put several other runners historically ahead of him in the 1500/mile but I am not interested in getting into a debate about what constitutes "all-time greats" and who they are. That is another thread. Suffice to say, I don't think he makes the list.

(Not even winning the lesser medals). But again -you might be right (as a fan I hope so) but we don’t know before he meets the best in peak shape, or runs really fast.
