Ethan and Gary moving now, three laps to go.
GARY MARTIN WHAT A RACE
3:48.1 anchor for Martin good lord
WOAH STRAND GOT BEATEN, MARTIN GOT STRAND. WHAT JUST HAPPENED. 3:48.12 close, Strand with him at 3:49.23 but burned so hard to get back to the pack.
Insane racing, tomorrow's 3k is going to be a glorious race.
Buddy Holly with the walkdown!
Strand split 3:49 damn
Loved that Martin won this race. So amazing. Great race and great Virginia win. Love the DMR. Wish there was an Olympic DMR. XC and the DMR are what college distance running is all about!!

Absolute carnage in the women’s 800. Top 3 seeds Jallow, Hunter, and Whittaker all failing to make it. Final should be exciting!
Harvard with 25% of the final field for the 800
Martin , good for him , had him lined up.Martin is big time obviously but better than most ever thought he would be.
BYU was 1.01 seconds up on UVA going into the final leg, the anchor splits 3:52.3, and they finish more than 3 seconds behind (and in 5th place). Yikes.

He's so cerebral and well calculated, think he'll be around for a long time, can't wait to see it.
Martin finally has that killer instinct, good win. As long as he stays healthy he’s always going to be in contention for world teams.
Strand v. Martin is going to be cinema. Hopefully Parker Wolfe heals up for outdoors, clearly missed some time this indoors.
So impressed with the first day, can't wait to see what happens tomorrow. Every race final lived up to expectations and then some.

Strand went flat-out a touch too soon. No gas left the last 100.

I will say his form is a little weird, but he did profile to be really good in college. Only running 50mpw in HS if I remember? Coach had literally never had a sub-5 miler than him?

Martin just floated by him today. Let’s see if Rojo now picks Gary to win Olympic gold in 2028!!! When I was in hs, the best miler in our county was the great Vince Draddy. First UVA miler under 4 minutes (sounds lame now, but not then). Now Martin is the UVA great.
i love how many points distance runners can score indoor, and the dmr is the best piece of it all. whoever decided to add it to indoors should be blessed. wish we had the 4x800 in outdoors.
