Yeah his treadmill workouts he is saying he is running would make him about 27:30 10k runner. He is not this and never has been. Not anywhere close.
This is no shade, seriously. Just the truth, and it’s bizarre that he goes out of his way to publicly lie that he is running these kinds of workouts. He has NEVER run this type of workout on the track or on the roads.
Then go look at his road workout he posts. If he was the runner his treadmill workouts indicate he is, he’d be running these segments at about 2:50 pace at the slowest.
Just by looking at him, clearly he is not. He’s running somewhere about 5 flat pace ( go look at the clips of Klecker running 1km repeats at 2:45 on the road and there is a very very clear and apparent difference in pace)
Also notice how this YouTube workout of David’s doesn’t mention anything (I think) of the pace of his 3 minute sections or his 2.5 mile effort later. Because if he did he’d have to say he was running like 5 flat pace on the 3 minute sections and 5:20 pace on the 2.5 mile section.
Again, there is a lot to be proud of for running a workout like that, but not to David. He needs to be running a workout that rivals ANYONE else who is on Strava, and he knows that there are people like Conner Mantz and Joe Klecker on Strava.
The only effort where he marks his pace is when he is running “3:52 mile pace” for his 20 second kick—in other words, that’s 29 second 200 meter pace for 20 seconds
