Shapiro and Fetterman are both from PA. Don’t think president and VP can be from the same state. and Fettermans health is a major obstacle to him advancing beyond where he is now.
There won't be a "Blue wave" in our lifetime. You don't go from 54% of Americans not being able to read above a 6th grade level to wide support for progressive policies. If dems can appeal to some of this group - as well as reluctant voters (Those who stay home unless they feel super energized) we might get a small democratic majority.
As to commenter, Donald received 74.2 million votes in 2020.
The only way there is a blue wave is if the GOP screws it all up so much that we have a 2nd great depression, and need a new "New Deal". There are a lot of safeguards in place to prevent that kind of thing - but its happened in Argentina when they decided to give a libertarian their executive. Inflation reached 236% there.
I kinda disagree with this. We have a “complain-ocracy”. Every 2 years, voters get excited to “THROW THE BUMS OUT!” Every incumbent gets walloped in the midterms, worse when you have unified gov’t like the GOP does now. Remember, Clinton in 94, Bush and his thumpin’ of 2006, Obama and his ‘shellacking’ in 2010. Bush in 2002 did ok because of 9/11 and the resulting rally-around-the-flag effect. 2026 will be rough for the GOP. Not because the Dems are ‘better’… only because it would be the GOP’s turn to get beat.
Trump got a bit lucky with the economy his first term, but with the tariffs he's proposing combined with the US stepping back from its place on the world stage, its not going to be pretty. I don't think we see Argentina level numbers, but I doubt many will be happy.
He had tariffs in his first term and Biden kept them in place.
Listen man, I know the GOP just won and won BIG! but just 4 years ago people were saying that the GOP would be a minority party for a generation dude to the Jan6 mess. If the GOP can come back from that in just 4 years, the Dems can recover from one bad presidential election (with a terrrrrrriible candidate) very easily.
Enjoy the next 2 years and just pray that DT is a more disciplined POTUS than he was before and that the people around him will keep him on track.
You haven't clearly. Its the poorest district in the US, but nothing like you describe. AOC appeals to poor Americans. After 4 years of Trump, there are guaranteed to be a lot more poor Americans for AOC to appeal to. And hey, if I'm wrong, it should be a slam dunk for the gop candidate who follows Trump.
The answer is Gavin Newsome, or similar. Time to stop being cute and history making with the nominees. When a history making candidate emerges it will be obvious and will not need to be shoved onto the voters.
