This gave him the ability to compete in numerous Indian u20/u23 championships, winning titles against actual junior athletes. This led to a Navy job that essentially paid him to be a full time athlete - these jobs are age restricted, you cannot get the athlete pathway after 25 years old.

Simpsons reference. I'm more lefty than Steve Carlton but don't pull the race card when someone gets busted for EPO and they are rightfully called out, sometimes in song. And then when you cheat at one thing, other aspects like age falsifcation come under scrutiny which has no bearing on what continent or subcontinent you are from. Facts are facts.

Or the competition in the NCAA is too good and he's simply not ready to perform on the big stage.

I think it's the latter. If you're getting a great runner who can win conference titles but has a bit of a suspicion about him, you don't ever want that suspicion to be confirmed so you'll let him do his thing and wash your hands of it. Basically like 'don't ask don't tell' for NCAA doping.
That being said, how didn't anyone suspect him earlier? He dominated a couple SEC championships with some of the worst tactics I've ever seen.

Typically on these boards, Kenya is known, within at least the last 5-10 years, as a country with “widespread doping”, correct? Yet colleges (other than Florida) have been importing Kenyan distance runners going back decades now. Indeed, it seems within the last few years, the numbers of East African imports has really taken off.
But as a casual observer, I wasn’t even aware of India as a distance power, and had no idea they were “known for having a widespread doping problem”, until recently due to this situation.
He’s done. He will never be able to come back to the US. No coach or team touch him. He can’t afford flights, international tuition, room/board and books on his own coin. He had his shot and he screwed it. Adios m’fer.
It’s the times he’s run (and his placement) with zero tactical awareness
Per WA, as a 17yr-old he slipped under 1:48 and ran a 3:40.x which indicates some talent. How many American kids have those times? Those times are much faster than what top Oregon recruit, Connor Burns ran at that age.
He is no Connor Burns. Khan ran those times too because he was juiced even then.
This is pretty big news and, unfortunately, is cause for suspicion about other athletes that Palmer coaches and has coached. I’m hoping that is isolated and something Khan chose to do on his own.
Your hope is quite unlikely, unfortunately. As you need 'experts' behind the wall to get not caught ...
A local kid from my area was a Freshman at Florida this past year and was, I'm fairly sure, Khan's roommate. At first Khan is this big success story (I certainly bought in) with his 3:55y despite being a rather small guy who tends to run wide. Seemed strange that he could pull it off, but he did. Now he tests positive for EPO and it begins to make sense.
Local kid, who ran a county record 4:08.03y last June, does not run a single race at UF last year and in May announces that he is transferring to our local college (Wagner). Now it appears that he has quit the sport altogether. Can't begin to figure out what is going on but I'd love to find out.
To be honest, quitting the sport isn’t an abnormal thing to do. I’d imagine he got hurt / the student-athlete life style took a toll on him. as you mentioned, perazzo is from NY. Florida a far way from home so maybe homesickness was a factor (which could be why he transferred to a local school). tack on the new roster rules coming 2025 and how massive UFs roster is, that’s definitely unrelated to Khan.
In my experience, quitting after running 4:08.0 in HS is quite unusual. 4:08y in HS, then no races in college, and then choosing to abandon the sport? I've not seen this before in 45 yrs involved in the sport. Btw, there has been no mention of injury regarding Perazzo. Could be the case but I have not heard that mentioned by anyone.
Some runners become disillusioned in college but it rarely happens that quickly to a runner that had so much success on the HS level.

Their success at FL comes from foreign athletes that have their own program.
