She's been setting British age-group records since she was 12. She's coached by people from her local club. There are no sponsors, no agent and hardly any social media presence. Why start doing something that risky now? Who would be behind it? She's not going to make anyone rich by winning BMC races.
Or are you suggesting she's been at it from the very beginning?
Why would any school age athlete dope? Yet they do.
Why would you assume she wasn’t doping at 16? Rationally if you are willing to dope at 17, you will at 16. See the Russian skater. And it isn’t like 16 years don’t have a long history of getting access to drugs….
Realistically until someone tests positive/confesses/avoids tots we can’t say some is a doper. And we can never prove someone is clean.
is clean? Probably. But let’s not pretend being middle class, living some where,… make any difference.
Of course it makes a difference. Are middle-class 17 year olds in St Albans just as likely to rob somebody as a 17 year old in a Nairobi slum?
Although the apparent likelihood of doping is higher in Kenya - for a variety of reasons - that doesn't mean it isn't occurring elsewhere. As antidoping specialists point out, it is in all sports at higher levels and in all countries - and sports governance bodies typically turn a blind eye.

Poorly conceived analogy that inadvertently hints at an ugly bigotry.
It's still a very good time for a 16-17 year old girl - and especially for a 2-lap runner. Mary Decker's best was just under 54. But for a 17 year old girl to run 55 in an 800 (who was nowhere near 2min for the 800 a year ago), yeah - nah. As I said, she would have been several metres ahead of the field of international runners at Eugene.
Raevyn Rogers ran a 53.36s 400m at the age of 12. And I think she's occasionally done two laps since then. Imagine how far ahead her pre-teen self could have been after the first lap on Saturday!
Going out way too hard in youthful excitement and then dying a death at the end isn't actually all that impressive or remarkable in itself.

How many Kenyan elite runners come from a Nairobi slum?
Your expectations aren't aligned with reality. Plenty of high school girls aged 17 (and 16) run or have run 55 or faster in the 400m.

They do? Prove it.
It has been published in WADA data and other antidoping sources. I know it occurs amongst teen sportsmen in my own country - because their lawyers have told me. Try informing yourself.

Why are you comparing her to Mary Decker?
Mary Decker was a world class 2-lap runner in her youth, winning international races at 14.

I am well informed, prick. You are ignorant.
If you were well-informed you wouldn't have asked such a stupid question.

Actually, Decker ran 52.77 at 19.
Thank you. My mistake.

Probably. The shoplifting rate with middle class kids is pretty darn high. And how many cheating scandals (I.e a sign the person has no ethics) have their been among middle/upper class kids trying to get into better schools.
So selection for the European championships in Rome is out.
800m - Keely, Alex Bell and Wallace.
Not sure of the selection criteria? Why no Phoebe Gill? I am however pleased that they are finally giving Alex Bell a slot over Boffey after leaving her out many a time.
"UKA’s objective for the European Athletics Championships is to maximise medal success at the European Athletics Championships and support athlete plans towards success at the Olympic Games in Paris this summer. With no official selection event, athletes were required to submit expressions of interest, or confirm with their event point of contact for consideration."
Probably just didn't submit expression of interest.
