Yes. And the top marathon runners in the country will appreciate that insight. Without it they would be lost in their training.

For sure they thought that the goal was to be mediocre. That's why they work so hard and spend so much money to achieve it.

Experience in the marathon makes a big difference. Announcers noted that this was Lemma’s 24th marathon. Cheptegei never looked comfortable.

Can any American men run faster than KB?

Indeed. He run with his trademark powerful steps, until the tank was empty after 20K (already). If he wants to succeed in the marathon he has to adapt to a more efficient stride.
