You are right, watching a Laker game where Lebron loafs his way around the court is much more enjoyable when we know that if he actually hustles he might drop dead of cardiac arrest.
The point of course, is they could have easily either given the actual heart problem they found (or not given a press release at all) or worded it something like 'a treatable heart defect was found, he will begin treatment and be back on the court soon'.
What is the purpose of putting congenital in there? It makes no sense.

It’s not part of the definition at all lol. Congenital defects can be inherited but many times it is due to environmental factors
