Yeah I agree with this. Plenty of chances to run fast times during the season. College recruiters have access to these times. It’s not the trans girls fault Stanford doesn’t want you.

He then ran at the Texas meet of champions where both Texas A@M and Mississippi State were shocked that no one had signed him. They had never even seen or heard of him. Man, I was not expecting all this -- esp. the political back and forth.
There is a lot of conversation about this. I've got friends constantly texting and calling me to get my thoughts. So the update here is:
1. yes, my daughter is competing.
2. her attitude is that these guys are 'just another person I have to beat.' She doesn't fall for the distraction -- she just wants to take care of business. Of course she DOES NOT want to compete against these guys in this setting. When my spouse came up with ideas to protest, my daughter was completely uninterested. It's not her battle was the feeling I got. I am sure that would change if my daughter got 2nd and one of the boys won, however.
3. When I told her that there was suggestions that she and other girls should boycott somehow, she laughed. "Ain't no way I'm not running at state." She's a high school girl. Not an activist. Attagirl.
3. Yes, I live in California. No, I don't think boys (humans with male genitalia) should be competing against girls (humans with female genitalia). I didn't vote for this. Nobody in my circle thinks this is trending in the right way...let the California stereotypes stop.
4. I do believe it's going to take someone 'rewriting the record books' to make a change. But I think there is more attention now being drawn to this.
5. I have sons. I empathize for these little dudes this weekend. If my son wanted to be a girl/gay, etc. I would support him unconditionally. I would encourage him to be in sports and whatever else he wanted to do. But I wouldn't let him compete against girls. It's unfair. It's just not right.
6. The reason I have dismissed this issue with my daughter previously is because I just thought it would get sorted out. It's not fair, and logic wins most of the time. Nobody can argue against that. And it's not really that widespread of a problem...yet.
Finally, I have not read every comment. But I still have this overarching thought... Is there anyone out there that thinks this is a good idea (to allow boys to compete against girls in this setting)? I know there is banter back and forth. But if you talk to 100 people, is there even one who can argue that this is fair?
That was the main reason for my initial post. I just don't understand the other perspective. Which is why this just seems crazy to me.
I have watched videos of the two trans kids...and obviously feel bad for them knowing their life can't be easy.
My daughter has asked me about this in the past and I have assured her that it wouldn't affect her. Now she's going to have to line up in a prelim on California's biggest stage against one of them...and hopefully she'll make the final (and then face both of them).
But these kids are getting faster and this problem is not going away.
There is a real possibility one of them will win the whole thing and by next year they will be clocking in the 4:20s. Taking down all of the state records. Sucks that we all just have to watch it happen.
Every race this happens in should have all the girls parents, girls, relatives, and whoever fighting against the transathletes. EVERY SINGLE TIME!
Certain folks told you if legislation was passed it would extend to many things of this sort happening. But you didn't listen did you? I do not have to say the word do I? I do not have to spell it?
