I had thought until today that reversing roe would be good for national dems...but I was wrong.
the Rs will now make banning abortion a national goal in the congress, so this crisis will be with us forever. A national ban could happen as soon as 2025 if the Rs get rid of the filibuster.
GOP could have done away with the filibuster before and didn’t. I’ve only heard dems threatening that recently when things don’t go their way.
Why do people not understand that you can agree with a concept but still understand that it was garbage law? Dems should have moved to make a law to legalize abortion instead of trusting Roe was untouchable. Democratic voters have no one to blame except their own policy makers and leadership.

so you think the Dems should eliminate the filibuster to codify Roe?
Wouldn't be so sure. A woman's health is always 'at risk' when pregnant. That's why civilized people let women decide if pregnancy is a risk they want to take on.
And we as a civilized society created the means to prevent (or at least greatly reduce) the chances of a woman getting pregnant in the first place.
An argument can be made that a civilized society does not kill its most vulnerable. (I am okay with early term abortion on demand, but it also seems slightly uncivilized at the same time.)
The underlying argument does not change depending on the chances of pregnancy

Huh? They didn’t need to use the filibuster when they had control.
No, I mean dems should have voted to make abortion legal all the times they’ve had power in the house and senate. They could have done it the correct way instead of relying on flimsy legal interpretation of Roe to support right to abortion.
They didn’t and Roe has now been, correctly, overturned.
If trump wins again scotus will ban contraception, gay rights by 2026. It will be like Sunday school everyday in America lmao.
Did SCOTUS ban abortion? I must have missed that part. Can you point me to where you read that?
You can be in favor of certain principles while still accepting that cases were decided on garbage law. SCOTUS doesn’t make laws, it can only say whether or not an existing one is unconstitutional. I think you probably know that, but everyone is trying to be dramatic today.
Writings on the wall d!psh!t ..babies will be crawling out of dumpsters in 15-20 years. You’ll be at a drive through at Taco Bell and just see little babies crawling around the dumpster searching for scraps. Some of us will be kind hearted and toss the baby a cheesy Gordita crunch. The other half of you will say ‘fvck you baby, earn it like I did!”
You can thank all the people who refused to vote for Hillary Clinton. And they're morons. We suffer through a presidency for only 4-8 years, but the SC justices hang on for 30-40 years. Young people will be suffering through this conservative court for most of their adult lives. Hope voting for Jill Stein was worth it.
Let me call you a wambulance! Hahahahahahaha
Hillary - a shining example of integrity and decency! Hahahahahah
In about twenty years, look for an increase in crime rates in the no-abortion states.
Unwanted pregnancies typically result in unwanted children. Unwanted children are *much* more likely to grow up to be your mugger, rapist, burglar, or murderer...than they are to be the one who cures cancer.
And yes, one reason (not necessarily the main one) for the drop in U.S. crime rates since ~1991...is that Roe v. Wade was handed down in 1973.

Conservatives didn’t care about abortion en masse until a few conservative oligarchs decided that they could rile up their uninformed base about it in the 90s. The propaganda consumed and regurgitated by barely-religious right wingers about abortion makes todays’ “woke liberals” look positively rational. These people have convinced themselves they are moral crusaders but they are just dancing for their wealthy masters, who in turn only care about consolidating their political power. It’s a master class in long-term political propaganda, to give credit where it’s due, I suppose.

So the answer is “no, they didn’t ban abortion”. Thanks for clarifying.
Also, I question your judgment if you think giving a baby a cheesy gordita crunch is an act of kindness. Better go with a bean burrito, be easier for them to chew.

That's one way of spinning the Democrat party turning openly evil under the Clintons, Trump was and still is a Democrat by 1980s standards.
