I'd argue the Rhetoric about leveling Gaza, the defense minister calling them animals, shutting off all water/electricity/food going in, and the bombing of the road out and Egyptian border (though maybe Hamas actually did that?) had a lot to do with the eroding support.
What do Gazans and Hamas do during the day? Do they only build missiles and rockets and grenades? Supposedly Israel has shut off water, electricity and food to Gazans. What have they done for the last 20 years? Have they developed water systems and attempted to become less-reliant on Israel on food and services? Do they have crops? Do they fish? I don't understand how Israel can shut off everything when Gaza has had 20 years to becoe self-reliant. The protesters in the streets ... do they ever go to school to learn crop-growing or electrical stuff or other stuff? Or are they always thinking bombs and missiles and other crap all of their lives? When are Gazans going to produce a productive society? Ever?

One of Gaza's big, and I mean BIG , industries, is Mother-of-Pearl souvenirs. I think they have those at a few shops in Galveston Texas but in Gaza that is a major industry.

I think he's on the frying pan now... I truly believe he made a massively risky bet that by going hard on Palestine the US would be forced to support and that would help him at home. Israeli's are not happy with this colossal security/intel fk up and now his policy of propping up Hamas is coming to light. And you know what else? Russia, China and Iran are laughing at us and Israel.. we've seen fks like this and internal divide from every notable democracy. The west is a total $hitshow and we've seem to have lost our moral compass. When those anti-democratic countries have disagreements, they wipe people out.. and they commit atrocities at will.
