Alcatraz was hideously expensive to operate, about three times as expensive as any other federal prison. In all its decades of use as a prison, it housed fewer than two thousand inmates, total. A "substantially enlarged and rebuilt ALCATRAZ" would nevertheless house a few hundred prisoners, at most. Remind me, how many "illegals" does President Trump say are in the USA?
