DR then gradually made his way to the final RV at Alby Horse Shoes Inn, where he got in the van and told me to drive to Cromer. Before I could question this DR said “It’s only a training run it doesn’t matter and no one is ever going to know. I’ve had enough, let’s go get an ice cream!”

Extremely quickly, DR & TR were obtaining substantial sponsorship from local businesses. This included a £5000 donation from Mattressman.

Attended (my one and only training session with DR) one spin class at Nuffield Health Fitness & Wellbeing Gym, with DR before Hockering to Cromer session. DR is recorded by MH falsely stating that I had been training with him. I was told to just go along with this as no one will know the truth and what does it matter.

During our stay at the Penzance Youth Hostel, DR had a telephone interview with Felicity Cross of the Daily Star Newspaper. During this DR lied about his London marathon time (the time changed for the 3rd time), the previous training runs he had not completed and that NF had been training him throughout. I looked at him when he said these to question why he was lying again. The look I received from DR was engaged by me as a warning not to push this issue.

DR was becoming more & more obsessed with checking social media and contacting TR (possibly others) at any given moment. He was becoming agitated and visibly angry (suppressed) every time he checked it. DR refused to stop/cut this down as he ‘needed to do it’.

From the moment DR began through to termination, DR did not run/jog once. DR preferred to use Tactical Advance to Battle (TAB) a fast paced walk used by the military. When it got too much DR got on a pedal cycle.

Life changed for me in November 2014 when I finally gave up smoking, and began my running journey. Early 2015 I entered the Virgin London Marathon and got the running bug, I went on to run Bournemouth Marathon 2015 and enjoyed the challenge and the training helped me with issues that I had had to cope with in my younger days. “Running become” a big part of my life and I went on to run in several other organised events throughout 2016. In April 2016 I decided I wanted to do something big to raise money for a great charity and to raise awareness for mental health, a subject that is very close to my heart and I had suffered with as a boy after being subjected to bullying/and abuse by a teacher at my secondary school for several years. I was going to Run from Lands'End to John o' Groats. I trained hard for a year April 2017 arrived “a we was” ready to go. Media attention was growing and “we was” raising the awareness that we had planned , then just days before “we was” leaving for the start line messages began, questions at the start were friendly and genuine but turned very quickly, internet forums “had got involved” one American Forum LETS RUN had become the judge jury and executioner, We ended our challenge on day two as our support driver Joe had suffered enough and the mental pressure these trolls had placed on us “had got to much” for him and he requested to end the journey and return home to his wife. This was one of the hardest times in my life as I had to keep quiet something I was not good at, we let these animals do “there worst” and then I could answer the questions from official channels and then provide any evidence required.

Coming through this has been a tough challenge and I have learnt many things and it has made me more determined to finish my journey and turn a negative into a positive. So we shall go again in April 2018 to raise awareness for “on line” bullying/trolling it will be a run and “ride. to campaign” against a problem that can effect so many “peoples life's .”

Dave Reading went from coughing up blood and having trouble making it to the top of the stairs after heavy smoking for over 40 years...to a 3:12 marathon at age 49... after only 2 years of running.

"I was in a very bad way. I was coughing up blood and couldn’t get to the top of the stairs."

Former Aircraftsman Dave said: “I think it’s going to be hell. I’ve tried. It’s going to be a great experience but a painful one. This is more of a military exercise than a running exercise.

“In the military they do a TAB exercise – tactical advance into battle – and it’s a slow, steady pace but you get from point A to point B."

In training, his longest run of 150 miles took 30 hours. (This is another lie that Dave is telling to the reporter.)

Explaining his motivation for the mission, Dave said: “I was bullied from a young age. I suffered badly at school and it set me back in those early years.

“I wanted to do something and I thought, ‘Running – I can run’!”

There was ZERO RUNNING during Dave's LEJOG World Record Attempt.

Dave walked and took a ride on a bike during his LEJOG Ultra World Record Debacle... which ended with Dave doing less than 50 miles total on his feet.

I'm ex military (28 years) and have come across a few of these sorts of fellows, they do a worthwhile job such as technician, cook, deskwork, mechanic, etc, but they never get in to a position where they can be a bit of a hero and get involved in some back slapping and attention, but they see others getting it.

Once out a lot of them just crap on about what they did in their day, most of what they say being rubbish and some go on to get attention and glory in other areas, again often talking rubbish and lying, this fellow seems to have done both.

We are trying to give Dave all of the attention that he deserves...but Terrie deletes and deletes and deletes.

Dave Reading says:

These Yoga classes are complementary to each other for PTSD which is secondary to an Ultra-Debacle.

He had a free entry for that. Unless Sealskinz finally saw sense and dumped him. Cant see him being able to run 70 miles, though over two days is easy

Hockering looks like a good place to be for someone like Dave when there's a real fully scrutinized running race on, and lets face it, he can't exactly fly under the radar these days as his infamy has spread world wide.
