Heard a very interesting take from Renato Mariotti. He said as a lawyer you obviously needed to convince people to view things your way. And this is often done by using the most simplistic arguments because most people do not want to do any deeper thinking. For example, you say “things just don’t add up” as a defense attorney. And the Jury can take that anywhere they want and it is very effective. If it is more complex you will lose the jury.
And it is the same with voters. Saying Trump and Vance are Weird is very effective because each person hears that and takes it wherever it leads him and they most certainly agree. One person might think of his raping. Another might think of his crimes. Another might think of the crazy thing he just said. A much more difficult statement is “Trump is a threat to democracy” because even though it is true it requires the person to explore detailed evidence, statements and even history. NOBODY besides us political junkies are going to do that. Just look at how Trumpers are oblivious on that one.Ironically, Trump uses this tactic often. In fact Make America Great Again is very simple. If you ask a person when American was great nobody can answer but it doesn’t matter. Because it works. People are nostalgic for things of the past even though if they did some deeper thinking they would conclude the PAST had lots of problems.
So the take away is to stop trying to illustrate how Trump is a threat to democracy and just show people over and over how Trump is a freaking weirdo.

Democrats have a real problem with that thorn. On one hand they say that women are independent and can forge their their own path. But, Alito's wife must be beholden to her husband!
