I don't think the administration will go for elevating the Elliots. Stranger things have happened, but I see them as power5 assistants or mid-major heads.

If your standard for a head job in the big ten is a being a "hot assistants in the SEC" then why talk sour about Norbert Elliott who was an assistant in the SEC at Tenn and Ga for over 15 years combined. If you want your SEC experience, he has it, so why go to the SEC to move up another assistant when Elliott is there already? This doesn't make sense.

The programs that historically win have at least one coach that gets kids to score on very little scholarship. LSU won when Boo was getting walk-on TJ kids to score. Arkansas won when Coach Mac was getting stud distance guys to come for almost free. Texas A&M's run featured De La Garza developing walk-on javelin kids that scored at NCAAs. If USC is going to get over the hump, they need a jumps coach who understands their role and doesn't let their ego get in the way of winning.

A lot harder to get walk ons at USC.... Also didn't they just win a national title like 3 weeks ago. I'm sure they'll be fine you only need like 40 points to win a natty these days anyways

TF is up with all these posts asking if a position is for a female? Do women think they are doing themselves a favor getting hired like this? This is what makes women look like clowns in the profession even if they are brilliant. People will assume they got it because they are female, not because they are competent. I realize it's not going to stop before it gets worse, but it's a major disservice to women as a whole and female coaches specifically.

Lagat is already a volunteer on their website, this would be an easy 40k and wouldnt affect his training. Suppose he tries for the 2020 Marathon Trials and or even the 10k on the track, how much further could he realistically go? What is he going to do when he is out of the sport? I bet he gets involved with coaching, and it starts with this assistant job.
