My point is the US could cut its emissions by 50% but if China and India and others are not on board, it won't make much of a difference.
It will make a difference, and each reduction helps. But the US could also play a leadership role in getting the ball rolling, and it could try to serve as an example.
But right now the US is second highest in CO2 Emissions per capita by country according to the Worldometer. Additionally, the US has historically emitted more greenhouse gases than any othe rcountry.
Going forward, what is needed is a collective effort to combat climate change, and not looking for excuses like the ones you grasp for.
