I wrote the scan tool for a different forum as a way to shame a couple posters who were behaving poorly and later adapted it to LetsRun.
It loses its effectiveness when posters aren't required to be registered with a verified email because stock puppetry becomes the norm when there is no cost to bad behavior. It also assumes people are sensitive to being shamed which isn't always the case.
The brojos also have done away with the "official" thread model so spammers get more exposure by starting new threads per talking point rather than being contained to a topical mega thread.
Inflation came down because of three main factors: expiring stimulus from the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2021 and American Rescue Plan, recessions in Europe and Japan and the Mountain Valley Pipeline coming online (part of the debt ceiling negotiation that Republicans pushed through). On energy (which drives inflation in other areas), the relief can be immediate. A number of Biden’s executive orders on energy were inflationary by design (to improve economics on EVs and his utility scale battery projects that he has been massively subsidizing).

Ok. I stand corrected. I hope you are right that the guardrails would hold and his ineptitude would prevail. But history makes me skeptical.
He openly called for foreign entities to interfere in elections. He had private off the record meetings with Putin. His team met with Russians for political dirt. He asked his AG to investigate political rivals. He had his team create fake electors and asked VP to choose those over the legal ones. His lawyers broke into voting machines. He personally tried to coerce election officials to change votes or refuse to certify with no evidence. He pardoned people who worked against US interests.
In admin 2, he will choose people unlikely to push back. It only takes some of the above to slip through for a drastic change to the US as we know it. A party/president taking over vote counting in a few key areas can do some serious damage to democracy.
I hope you are right. I think it is crazy fo Americans to take the chance given history and his stated goals.
We are not a serious nation and we do not deserve our republic or democracy. We will have neither for long.

I would like the Israel/Hamas & Ukraine/Russia wars to end also. But pulling the plug on aid puts US strategic allies in jeopardy. What do you think is a good solution?
Biden / Harris have advocated for cease fire, withheld weapons, and provided humanitarian aid to Gaza. They are supplying weapons, but no combat troops in Ukraine.

- Trump has shown a highly defective character his entire life. He was cruel, incompetent, and anti-democratic as president. And then in the last year, he and/or his speech writers have gone out of their way to sound exactly like Hitler. All of that 100% earns him justifiable comparisons to Hitler, and other dictators. He WANTED to sound that way. It’s then absurd to adopt a false sophistication that suggests that that doesn’t really represent him. So many overused quotes and expressions, but the one about believing people about who they are the first time they show you is a VERY good one.
- How many dictators in history (all or recent) had a WAY smaller of a pool of 300+ million from which to pick enough enablers to pull off a dictatorship? The vast majority. Our “system” might successfully resist it, but no reason to believe that Trump can’t find enough loyalists.
- Similarly, how many dictatorships had a reasonably professional military in place before their reign? Lots? Most? The vast majority? Many of us anti-Trumpers have tried to make peace with the idea that Trump is not as bad as being reported. And that maybe he would pivot. But we have consistently found that the course of wisdom is to assume Trump is doing sh!t in private that is way worse. This is because the leaks are always confirmed.
It is not fucqing normal that 40 of your 45 closest staff and vice President refuse to endorse your 2nd term. And many outright say Trump is a straight up authoritarian dictator. All of the most damning information on Trump comes from Republicans that worked for him!
Anerican people have been given a full body of evidence to know Trump well. We are far beyond the “Trump might not be that bad as people say” stage.
