I do wonder whether polling is being manipulated to make the race look close in order to get more media attention for the election and better ratings on news shows. Trump has done absolutely nothing to win over voters over the last month. All he does is go around and try to get on the news with some new outrage over his ramblings. And those ramblings used to be somewhat entertaining. Now, it is just getting weird like his comments about Arnold Palmer having a big ding a ling. Policy is just the same stuff about immigrants causing male pattern baldness and every other problem in society.
And while the Harris campaign could have done a lot more to get more support, her campaign really hasn't had any big blow ups or unforced errors. She hasn't called Trump supporters deplorables. No late revelations from a special prosecutor. No big blow ups in media appearances.
So, one of two things is happening here. Either polls are missing support for Harris and over estimating Trump support or this has turned into an election about feels. People who are struggling with inflation, housing costs, etc. are mad and because Harris has not offered clear solutions, Trump is their candidate because he is mad about everything too. It doesn't matter whether he has any plan that actually works. Voters just want the feels.
my basic read on this election is that those voters willing to change their minds have gone to trump because he has somehow convinced them that he represents 'normal' America and Harris represents blue haired, minority, gender bending, freaky America.
In a world upside and sidewise they want to just know at the very least that boys like girls, boys in fact are boys, girls are girls, boys don't get to play girls' sports, white people in blue suits run the country, etc.
So a vote for trump is saying 'ok he's nuts and a terrible person, but in my small world he will let me at least know a few basic things and I can stop being confronted by so much liberal insanity'

Most voters name several issues as very important to their vote. Economy is the top issue. Other important issues: health care, Supreme Court, foreign policy, crime, immigration, guns, abortion.
It doesn't matter if the economy is good or bad. The Republicans have positioned themselves as the economy party and people believe it for whatever reason.

Regarding the election that's just one month away, you all can do whatever you want (provided it's legal). If you want to spend your time on this site, posting messages that will change no one's opinions, that's fine by me--I've done plenty of that.
But I'm not satisfied with just casting my own ballot. I'm now in the process of writing a thousand postcards to others, urging them to vote as well. Might make a difference, might not. But at least I feel like I'm doing something--not just wringing my hands and waiting to see how things turn out.

The 11 million number refers to CPB Encounters, which include people detained and arrested, people who seek asylum, people who are expelled from the country, people who return to their country after withdrawing an application for admission, etc.. Sally Vix claims that 12 million entered the country illegally over the past few years. I've never seen any support for that statement and, until he/she gives a credible link, I'm going with the idea that he/she lied (again).
