Wait until they see they’re running out of lane 1. No way that team gets the baton around cleanly.
Not flat 400 out of the blocks. A lot of fast 1500 runners have speed but no power. Sprinters have both because they need to get out of the blocks fast. A muscular guy like Mahkloufi probably could run well in a flat 400. A skinny guy like Cheruiyot wouldn't because he doesn't have power. In other words, a slow starter. He'd be left behind at the start and wouldn't catch up. Lack of power wouldn't hurt Cheruiyot in an 800/1500 -- not sprint events -- but it would in a flat 400.

You are conveniently forgetting that running a relay requires HAND-OFFS, something the US has shown over and over and over and over again (see, TODAY'S 3RD EXCHANGE) that it is garbage at. Speed doesn't matter when you can't pass the stick!! If this wasn't true, the US would have more than THREE medals from the last NINE global championships!! The US 4x100m should be swimming in relay medals, but instead, they have a pile of DNFs and DQs.
PS - Concerning this years team being a "World Record Team," they had the 9TH fastest time today! If they were in the other heat, THEY WOULD NOT HAVE QUALIFIED FOR THE FINAL.

Elijah Manangoi has similar body like Cheruiyot and he has run 46s 400m.

Who ran 3rd and 4th today? I assume not Lyles or Holloway as I haven't seen the race. So you had Gatlin and a bunch of guys that didnt make it out of the 1st round of the 100. What do you expect?

Don't use lane 1 here, so it will be either 2 or 3, assuming protest not upheld.
The USA women had to run out of lane 1 in the 2016 Rio final because they got in on a time trial. People doubted they could win from there but they did so fairly easily.

Nope, that was the team. I think they're out. Will be interesting to hear final decision. And as far as why it was Canada lodging the protest, it's because they were first out (from the other heat) not Italy.

I expect a team that has the TWO TOP MEDALISTS AND 9TH PLACE FINISHER in the open 100M running to SAFELY MAKE IT TO THE FINAL, not to finish with the 9th fastest time and risk getting a DQ because they can't pass the stick!!
FUTHERMORE, I expect that 9TH PLACE FINISHER, who is running this event at at global championship FOR THE 6TH TIME, to NOT BUNGLE HIS HAND-OFF AGAIN. Gatlin and Rodgers have been a part of so many teams that have consistently blown it that the US 4x100m would seriously be better off without them, despite their PRs and SBs. Japan puts out teams who member's PRs are all slower than anyone on Team USA's, yet can actually finish their races AND win MORE medals over the last 10 years.
Grant Holloway hasn't run a 100m since 2013, so who knows if he's good enough to make the final relay squad and one can only speculate how good he actually is (before you say "but 12.98!!," Devon Allen has run 13.03, but only 10.26 in the 100m. Also, Mike Rodgers has a faster 200m PR). Noah Lyles honestly should be running, that doesn't guarantee they'll get the baton around!!!

No dummy, Italy would get in if the US were DQd. Top 3 auto for each heat.

As a matter of fact, they’re not even the fastest team the US has ever fielded. I would bet on SMTC against them any day.
US men’s relay is a shxt show. It all starts with the coaching, and ends with the fact that everybody thinks they’re so great that they don’t need to practice.
Even when they fvck up, they think that “we’re still the fastest, we just had bad luck”. Or they don’t really care because they have already won their individual medals.
With practice, this team could be great; without it, they will be only ok—IF they get the stick around—IF they will even be in the final.

This is not that hard. If USA out, Italy moves to top three auto in, Q. With Italy having, 'Q", Canada gets the 'q', advancing to the finals on time.

Let's be honest here, it wasn't the whole team that screwed up it was Mike Rodgers. Coleman was fine, Gatlin looked a little sluggish but if Rodgers makes a clean handoff the US is through easily. He kept slowing so much Gillespie had to keep waiting.
Coleman - Gatlin - Lyles - anyone.
