Some excellent showings from my fellow DIII alumni at the Chicago Marathon today.
Bijan Mazaheri (Williams, now a PhD student at Caltech) - 2:15:26
Noah Droddy (DePauw, now a pro runner sponsored by Saucony) - 2:11:42
Great job guys!

Should have mentioned - Bijan graduated in 2016 and Noah graduated in 2013.

Liam might not win but dont be surprised if he slides into the top 10. Also on 10/19 Liam is racing at Oberlin and Trey Rasanuskus from Case will be running as well. This will be a fun dual to watch. Although Chase Hampton will beat both of them most likely so its a close race for second!

Good attempt at humbleness, Liam. Always appreciate you checking in.

How are the running conditions out east? Hard ground, soft ground, frost yet? Mostly dry?

Short and flat by the looks of it!
And 8 kilometers
I heard Dhruvil Patel is racing the Indianapolis Half Marathon. Can anyone confirm??
I don’t know Dhruvil, why don’t you tell us.
Yes I know these guys are probably not the best of the best D3 runners but all three of them will 100% be All-Americans this year. But yea Oberlin my prediction is Chase 1st, Liam 2nd, Trey 3rd . Race will be close, I betting a 24:35 If the weather is good.
Men's competing teams. A bunch of the top 35 are there, but notables:
NCC (#1)
Wartburg (#3)
Wash U (#4)
Pamona Pitzer (#9)
U Chicago (#10)
One of the strongest match ups (if not the strongest) we're going to see until Nationals. It will be a close race and could very well be bunched up at the front the whole time.
Predictions??

Individual contenders will be a toss up between the front runners from NCC, Wart, and PP: Osmulski, Pommier, Beutel, Pinkowski, Freiburger, Matteucci. Not really seeing front runner firepower from other teams (I may be missing one off runners from smaller schools)
That being said, I think the race could be taken by an alum/unattached IF AND ONLY IF they wear an NOP singlet
Team race will pan out per rankings. ppl can talk s*** about NCC but they deliver. It's as simple as that. The gap between Wart and PP will widen with more runners now on the field (vs. close matchup at Dan Huston)

Correction: toss up between the front runners from NCC, Wart, and Wash U.
Pomona Pitzer will take its rightful spot at the top of Division III with a clear win over NCC!

They had their chance in 2015 and they blew it.
Patrick Watson is the real deal. ran 24:00 at rowan today to take the W.
Damn. Looks like we can't make fun of Pomona-Pitzer for awhile.
