But I don't see someone beating Amos + the brits don't really look like they have a chance to medal

Just watched the replay.

So the winner has a terrible case of the acne. The second place winner is wearing braces. Third place pb and 4th place wearing braces. All natural, I think.

But not quite. Good runners often don't make a final, esp in 800-1500m races. See the women's 1500m in the C'wealth Games this week. People don't a fluke a 1.41.

Pierre-Ambroise Bosse isn't merely a "good" runner. He has made every continental and global final offered to him in the last 5 years even despite an injury. If he ever breaks 1:42 or wins another 2 world championships, it would not be a fluke.

Amos is almost 30 and we've yet to see if he can still turn it on at a major championships in the biological passport era.

Interesting stat of the day - if you took out athletics results from the medal table, Kenya would currently have 0 golds 0 silvers and 0 bronzes, whereas Australia would have 50 golds, 38 silvers, and 42 bronzes.

Even with the athletics medals included, Kenya is currently behind Samoa, Bermuda, and Papua New Guinnea in the medal table.

Bio-passport needs a good number of samples over time to establish a baseline. It's impossible to do this for a lot of athletes from certain countries.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think that Africa has an accredited lab at present. Considering in men's events alone at the recent WCs, African males won medals in 200m to the marathon.
