Real News is Stores are Closing (and the problem is Demand, not Supply):
To achieve these prices while remaining financially sustainable, Tesla is shifting sales worldwide to online only. You can now buy a Tesla in North America via your phone in about 1 minute, and that capability will soon be extended worldwide. We are also making it much easier to try out and return a Tesla, so that a test drive prior to purchase isn’t needed. You can now return a car within 7 days or 1,000 miles for a full refund. Quite literally, you could buy a Tesla, drive several hundred miles for a weekend road trip with friends and then return it for free. With the highest consumer satisfaction score of any car on the road, we are confident you will want to keep your Model 3.
Shifting all sales online, combined with other ongoing cost efficiencies, will enable us to lower all vehicle prices by about 6% on average, allowing us to achieve the $35,000 Model 3 price point earlier than we expected. Over the next few months, we will be winding down many of our stores, with a small number of stores in high-traffic locations remaining as galleries, showcases and Tesla information centers. The important thing for customers in the United States to understand is that, with online sales, anyone in any state can quickly and easily buy a Tesla.
“We will be closing some stores, and there will be some reduction in headcount as a result. yeah,” Musk said on a conference call announcing the new pricing and strategy. “There’s no other way to provide this car and maintain sustainability. There’s no way around it.”
“That’s not today’s topic. Next question,” Musk snapped to a reporter when asked on the call how many would be losing their jobs.
But the choice was either the dealerships or the car, Musk added.
“I wish there was some other way, but we have a binary choice of providing a $35,000 car with fewer people, or not provide a $35,000 car,” he said.
It's hard to keep up with Tesla news these days:
The $35k Tesla seems like a pretty good deal in Colorado. Incentives of about $9k put the price at $26k. Isn't that cheaper than a base Honda Accord? Would you rather have a base Honda Accord or a Tesla Model 3?

I rather have a Honda Accord. It doesn't explode when it "touches" a tree.

Back to the original question: Is Tesla a PONZI scheme?
Yes

Haters gonna hate.
Over the weekend, a Tesla Model X caught fire on the frozen surface of Lake Champlain in Vermont. The fire happened around 8 p.m. on Sunday, and the fire almost completely consumed the vehicle. A few news reports had mentioned the burned-up Tesla. So, we decided to walk out onto the lake and have a look:
https://www.popularmechanics.co.za/wheels/tesla-burned-crisp-vermont-lake-walked-foundFor the time being, this Tesla’s burned out husk remains on the lake, where Popular Mechanics photographed it on Wednesday afternoon. No word yet on what will become of the charred remains, but it’s hard to imagine someone freeing the metal from the ice and dragging it away, so we’d have to guess these remains are bound for the bottom of the lake once springtime melts the ice.

In any incident between a car and a tractor trailer the car always loses. Vehicles slide underneath tractor trailers because the driver of the car is following too closely or the driver of the car isn't paying attention.
It's just a matter of mass over stupidity.
Maybe we need a separate thread for Tesla fires?
