Baum will win the GLIAC
Baum will win the GLIAC
Baum or Peterson. It will not be anyone else. Can't wait to watch that match up.

Well, being coached by the incredible coach Ritzenhein, Grand valley is looking to go ten deep in the gliac race this year. The only person who could disrupt this from happening is Baum. he could possibly slip in front of the 9 or 10 guy, but its unlikely. Side note- Bryce Bradley could win the gliac easily however a recent decision to invest in earrings could have the potential to eliminate his chance.
Earring? What a tw@t muffin.
GVSU will be at UW-Oshkosh this weekend. They will competing against North Central, Augustana (SD) and UW-Parkside so it should be a good meet. We will see how they stack up against some regional and national competition on a course that seems to produce pretty good times. Right now I would have to go:
1-GV
2-Malone
3-Ashland
4-Hillsdale
Ferris St.
I can't pick between Hillsdale and Ferris St right now. Perhaps Hillsdale has the edge do to having a stronger #1, and had a good showing at the #2 spot last time out as well. It should be real interesting between Malone and Ashland at GLIACs, I expect Ashland's 4-5 will continue to get closer to their top three.
On a serious note any updates on injuries, dark horses, big races, break out performances?
Most on this thread are too young to realize who the new Hillsdale coach is this fall but he was Baltes' right hand man at GV for the better part of 5 years before moving on. If there is a team flying under the radar in the GLIAC or NCAA right now, its Hillsdale. Greater Louisville was proof of that dominating their division and had they been in the Gold Race, would have finished well ahead of Mt Olive and just behind U Southern Indiana. Nonetheless it should be an interesting race in 3 weeks for 2-5th and even more so 2 weeks later when we see who's prepped for 10,000m on the grass

How is Hillsdale the most underrated team in GLIAC if they're 13th in the country? They're way overrated with all their weight leaning on Mirths beard.
Very few GLIAC teams raced this weekend. Ashland seemed to have put together a really nice race at Wilmington. Hall and Sussman had stellar races and Ashland won with 21pts. Hall was only 7sec off Baum. Walsh was 3rd w/ 111 and ODU was 7th w/ 259.
Grand Valley also ran a very nice race at Oshkosh. I believe Hillsdale had the weekend off.
Grand Valley is overrated. Peterson is overrated. Baum is overrated. GLIAC is overrated.
That's simply not true. Although he may be a bit over rated on the national level, Peterson is still a great runner and will place top 15 at NCAA's. Baum will too.
Several region teams will be competing at USI this Saturday. Hillsdale, Malone, Ferris, St Joe, Bellarmine, and host USI.
Just about to post that! ^^^^
Also Bradley raced last weekend for Grand Valley for those wondering. How's the course at Southern Indiana?
Completely flat and loops (3k+2k+3k)
Thanks. Ashland should love the flat course.
Did they change the course? Last time I was there the middle section was fairly challenging and hilly.
Yeah, it's now at Angel Mounds Park and is basically a pancake course. From what I've heard, you'd be hard pressed to find a faster course.
From what I've heard the Tiffin coach got really creative with the GLIAC course. 4x2k loop on a pancake. Track is starting early it looks like.
So it looks like GlIAC's, regionals, and nationals will all be flat. This weekend should tell a lot about how regionals will play out.
