That would certainly solve the problem of fairness. But wait... One could argue the fairest way to approach this dilemma is to let the best coaches get the jobs, regardless of gender. Oh, and then we have the nagging problem of most female athletes preferring to be coached by males. Boy, this is a tough one.

Your anger won't help change things. The latest statistics show that one in every five women are sexually assaulted in college.
The best solution to this is to let women coach women and men coach men. It is a no brainer, and it solves the entire problem. More female coaches is the answer.

No. This is simply the world as you would have it. Sorry. I've been in the business a long time. The majority a female athletes prefer to be coached by men. Female athletes who have been coached by both are even more likely to choose a male coach if given the option. There are some great female coaches out there, don't get me wrong. But for whatever reason, when it is personal, they choose men. Go figure.

I was not stating my personal opinions but what I have found in qualitative and quantitative research. Relying on personal anecdotal evidence as you are is frowned on in the real world because it's often wrong. I've been in the business a while too and, anecdotally speaking, females prefer a female coach. For whatever reason they choose me over all the guy coaches in my region.
Other way around in my area, women are preferring a male coach over the women; just depends on the athlete one is not better than other. Great male coaches and great female coaches of both men and women.
Can we please get this back to jobs!!!!
Olivet Nazarene Has a full time throws coach. They are looking for a full time jumps coach now. Job hasn't been posted yet but I'd expect it to be posted soon from what my kid says.
