Williams missing #2, Keene's #1 ran like shit, Amherst missing #1, Southern Maine ran race of life
NCC is the team to beat in D3

Where do you think Keene would be if they still had Craig Mac?
The same exact place they are now considering CraigMcChoke is back in action

I don't think Southern Maine had the race of their life, they definitly ran strong but they have been hinting at a stronger team than expect for a couple weeks now. They are on a roll and are a stronger team, they deserved their "regional win" yesterday.

Are those guys hurt? If so these teams are not going to do what everyone was expecting. Especially Williams.
If those guys aren't hurt, why can't they just get their shit together and show up for the race?

HEY!
You're not me.
This is like that time Superman battled the other guy who thought he was Superman.
Still think the women's race is basically between Borner and Mitchell? I don't even know if anyone is going to catch Borner...
and what about Kosgei? Anyone going to catch him?
Pretty sure Williams' 2 ran, and DNF'd. He has a history of doing so. That's a big difference than them missing him. Keene's 1 running like shit is just not an excuse, you can count that many teams will have a shitty guy pretty much every race. Amherst 1 (yochum?) seems to be out for the season. I wouldn't suggest there's a padding for these guys, they actually could be in trouble. Williams probably isn't in trouble in the region, but the other 2 probably have a lot of trouble on their hands.
North Central not only looks really strong this year, but the freshmen and sophmore classes look pretty impressive too. Looks like Al has them running for fun and personal best!

I heard that Mitchell had some kind of surgery this summer so she's still working back from that. She stuck w/ Borner pretty well for most of the race at Griak and if she can improve by nats she may have a shot. That being said, Borner is looking really strong this year and I would put my money on her.
Not an impressive showing for Williams. Obviously it's hard to compare times and courses, but their avg was 25 secs slower than New Hampshire.
Compare that to Cortland and Allegheny, who both beat New Hampshire at Paul Short. Plus Haverford, Dickinson, and St. Lawrence who were all less than 15 secs slower on avg than New Hampshire.
Coupled with the loss to S. Maine, they've got to drop in the rankings. Maybe they should be around 10th?
Perlis from williams ran and dropped out holding achilles. Hope he's ok
I guess we'll see about the Women this weekend...UW-Osh is hosting the brooks invite. Borner, Mitchell, and O'Grady(2nd in the 5k @ Outdoor last year) will be there, along with many other top 25 teams

This race should really highlight what's going to happen at the end of the season. The weather looks like it will be great for fast times.
Latest New England rankings.
Yeah, Mitchell had her appendix out over the summer, so she was a little bit behind, but I could see a pretty heated battle between her and Borner, and really the only thing that matters is how you're running at the end of the season! Could see a few other women step up... the Midwest is STACKED...as you mentioned, O'Grady is pretty solid as well as Childs-Walker from Carleton, Scherer from St. Norbert, Kraayenbrink from Wartburg. I'm pretty positive the National Champ is going to come out of the Midwest!
That Brooks Invite will be very solid on the 17th. Looks like the Oberlin "Inter-Regional Rumble" will have a solid meet as well.
As for the men, just looking for a few other names beside Kosgei to show up? Is he going to be challeneged?
And the women's team race, anyone going to beat Calvin? My first reaction is definitely to say no.
Men's race could be more interesting with North Central, UW-LAX & SUNY Cortland in what I think could be a tight matchup... again, obviously it's who will be able to peak their best at the end of the season that truly matters!
Who do you guys think will be the top 10 men by the end of the year? Will this play a big factor in the team battle?

I hate comments like these.
1. Peter Kosgei
2. Zach Wilhelmy
3. Seth DuBois
4. Mike Heymann
5. Mike Spain
6. Ricky Flynn
7. Dan Greeno
8. Kyle Brady
9. Jesse Faller
10. Dobuol Ruon
Yeah you can put Wilhelmy down a few notches. He won't be that close to Kosgei. He may very well be an All-American, but will make a prediction that it won't be top five.
