Maag has always struck me as a pretty classy runner - he looked really uncomfortable to me up on the awards stand and I can't imagine how weird that must have felt. I think it's great he managed to double back and win the 5000m.
The fact that he took down several fresh 14:0x runners has been largely overlooked due to Wynergate, and that's a shame.
His achievement has been largely overshadowed by a few selfish old men, and because of that he will be remembered as 'winning' a race by finishing second. He SHOULD be remembered for powering down the stretch and holding off a fresh Chenoweth.

The Princeton coaches are tools plain and simple. They walk around all day complaining to anyone who will listen about the bad luck they had. With all of the guys they have they should be winning and they got it handed to them. After the 10K, I heard their faculty rep bragging about how their freshmen were up and coming - come on those freshman were both top ten at FL XC Nationals. Look at what those types of guys are doing elswhere. Princeton is the breeding ground for mediocrity and everyone in Heps knows it but Dolan and Samara. You guys are A$$ clowns!
That was NOT excessive celebration. DQ is an overreaction.

Not an exact comparison; I think there is a difference between the Heps and being an ambassador for your nation, i.e., the Olympics. Also, Bolt was not DQed and no one said he should have been; Bolt and Jimmy pretty much did the same thing, classless perhaps, but neither should have been DQed.
Btw, most people are saying Jimmy is an ass, but like Bolt, he won the race fair and square.
Is there anyway this ruling can be reversed?
Would supporters of a ruling reversal advocate the following:
(a)Mass mailing of a (respectful) form letter to the relevant officials and director?
(b)Mass mailing of a (respectful) form letter asking the Princeton and Dartmouth coaches to retract their respective complaints.
I would be interested to hear peoples' thoughts.
I'm not sure this is possible - but I would at least like to hear some justification.
If the officials are willing to take this away from an athlete - I think they should at least be willing to issue a statement and answer questions.

Leung was not top ten at FL.
my bad. Leung 15th and Cabral within 10 seconds of Fernandez and Derrick. Princeton track sucks. But, they have an amazing campus, reputation, and financial aid and as a result will always be ok in track, despite Dolan and Samara
Cabral didn't race all of XC, presumably he was injured? Pretty good to have run 14:18 as a frosh being injured all fall. Leung qualified for XC nationals, pretty good if you ask me
don't be tool. Tiger coaches are good and the guys on the team like them. And yes, Princeton does get fabulous recruits because of the things the school offers besides running

Nope. See that right there removes any doubt that you ever competed at a Heps championship. Take it from someone who competed in about 12 of them... if you're basing your argument on the reliability/competence of Heps officials, then you have lost already. Hyde was right. The other guy you are trying to argue with was right. If you want to try and play devil's advocate, I'd recommend you do it on another thread.

Actually, I have competed in multiple Heps Championships.
And again, this is a subjective thing. You cannot definitively say that one side or another is right here.

Someone got snubbed during the recruiting process...
One thing I have noticed, is that there have been several people who have said that hardass rules like this show why the Ivy League is dumb or why track is unpopular... then go on to say that Dartmouth should have been penalized for booing. Why should track athletes be exempt from getting booed when they act like douchebags? Imagine if when Rondo slapped Brad Miller across the face a few bulls players voiced their disapproval and the next morning on Sportscenter people were calling for retribution for their unsportsmanlike actions. You can say that Wyner did not deserve a DQ, but I don't see any way you can argue that he should not have been booed.

That might be true if it weren't for the fact that the officials themselves are morons. And don't take that to mean they are otherwise intelligent people who just happened to make a one-off moronic decision. It means - and this is the best thing I can say about them - they are 100%, Grade A, drool-cup-wearing, sideshow-quality morons.
