this is a trumper saying that the US should not push its values on people, even as trump takes over a sovereign foreign nation and threatens multiple more nations with a similar fate, including a NATO member.
WTF?
Obama took out Bin Laden and wasn't criticized for that. Capturing Maduro is similar. It's FAR better than Biden trying to use the full force of the US government to push gender or abortion crap in other countries.
bin laden was not a head of state. Or even a government employee. Bin laden directly attacked the USA. Obama had a permit from Congress to get Bin Laden.
None of that applies to Maduro.
your analogy is not a good one.
be better. You can do it. Even trumpers can be smart. I promise.
Im really struggling to find justification for this. Venezuelan regime bad, yes. Sanctions and embargoes ok. Seizing tankers a bit iffy but if sanctions being ignored then......
But open acts of war = bad.
Wtf. Palestine is an open threat to israel. Venezuela is not a threat to us.
Venezuela is a threat to the US. Billions of dollars of drugs are illegally entering the US from Venezuela per year. Cocaine, the drug predominately trafficked from there accounted for roughly 22,000 U.S. deaths in 2024.

Should we be attacking all countries who import drugs to the US and kidnapping their presidents? Or just ones with oil? C'mon bro. I assume you have a brain. Use it.
”This is completely unreported. It is an internal coup. I believe it will very soon become clear that Maduro's vice president Delcy Rodríguez (@delcyrodriguezv) has made a deal with the Americans. That's why it was possible for the Americans to capture Maduro so easily - Delcy Rodríguez simply betrayed him and made a backroom deal with the Americans that she becomes the new president. Trump mentioned it explicitly at the press conference just held, but none of the journalists caught it. This means the regime still holds power—and yes, this may also be the deal Trump has made with Putin. It is NOT regime change. And there is no democracy. Maduro is out, but the regime remains. And Delcy Rodríguez's payment: Venezuela's oil goes to Trump and perhaps Putin. The leader of Venezuela's democratic opposition, María Corina Machado @MariaCorinaYA, can forget about returning to Venezuela—and forget about democracy. It honestly feels rather Vichy-like.”
Even libs believe conspiracy crap if it fits their narrative

Mental gymnastics Special Olympic participant found.
there is like one event in 2022 involving some other dude.
i assume the argument will be maduro and the dude were in a conspiracy.
otherwise this is stale and will get punted.
LOL....Are you serious? You actually think he will beat this case? You must be the imperative voice of mental retardation...
you're a clown. as recently as 2003 we got in a war based on complete crap. you forget about iraq already? "where is the WMD?"
and the reason wars go through congress is we have actual evidence and discussion of the reasons why something happened, and get to evaluate whether it's bs or stale before we authorize it.
and you're wanting to go to war on a stale indictment with a bunch of stuff from 2005-2010, where their argument to try and survive limitations will be that a co-conspirator ie SOMEONE ELSE did something in 2022.
and to be clear, the president changes his mind on a daily basis why we are there. is it gangs? drugs? corruption? a conspiracy? oil? he can do that because he's not running this through channels. he didn't ask for a war declaration. and he's probably using this hidden indictment to evade the war powers act.

we all know trump tried to have maduro killed first term, missed, and this is like the bush family saddam obsession. which we all remember derailed the war on terror into regime change.
and then amusingly by obama's term y'all flipped around into "realists" where we needed jerks running the middle east to hold off the islamists.

Under the Donroe Doctrine, countries in the Western hemisphere are the most important. Let Europe deal with European wars, and don't try to force "Western" values on Middle Eastern countries.
setting aside the legalistic "limitations" argument, a bunch of allegations of drug trafficking dating back to 2005-2010 hardly sound like a reason for a 2025 war. even stuff from 2022 doesn't sound like an imminent threat.
it's an excuse. a very very thin one.
normally the idea is they blow up something yesterday which justifies a response today.
we are talking about stuff from when chavez was in office. where the most recent stuff was during covid.

so is it we're isolationists out of the war business, monroe doctrine folks, or globocops?
i think the used car salesman sold you a lemon and you're still pretending it's meant to be working.
The US military is incredible. To conduct operations through the air like this in both Venezuela and Iran without softening air defenses in advanced is pretty amazing. Well done soldiers.
decapitating a foreign nation with lethal force and the use of a nation's armed forces is, by any definition, war.
if people are confused, all those random explosions around town were probably radar and missle sites, intelligence buildings, port facilities, navy boats, that was us paving the way for a military op, killing people serving a hostile country because we're at war.
otherwise, you don't get to shoot dead 20 people along the way to serve an arrest warrant.
