Kaylyn Brown has regressed so much within a year. Sad to see.
I was thinking the same thing. She ran last in this 400M after being on the Olympics team last year. What's going on? Perhaps she should take a few months break. Something is off.
Not a surprise to me. It is a rare sprinter who leaves the NCAA not destroyed by injury. But what do you expect with 100/200/4x100/4x400 on one day with minutes apart between races. I feel sorry for them.
In a new twist inspired by the Groundbreaking Grand Slam Track™ league (2025 season recently concluded), any track race broadcast in the US can be protested directly from the LetsRun™ message board.
It is hoped that this will drive fan engagement and increase the drama and uncertainty around the finish of races, in a similar manner to the adding up of points across two races did for the Groundbreaking Grand Slam Track™ league.
At this point, I feel like there’re some coaching issues here. I saw her run one where she didn’t go to the lead and it went poorly…but that’s not the right adjustment. It’s leading but controlling the race at your pace. Frontrunning is highly effective in the 800, it’s just not when you hit the gas the entire first 600. Hard first 150, and ease it back the next 350 at least. You can see how Moraa, Wanyonyi, Arop, Keely do it in variety of ways. Stop watching Wesley Vazquez and Natoya Goule tape.
Rose is on track to be the Alysia Montaño of the 2020s.
In the 1500 I think OR has to make it fast or risk the big kicks of Sophie and congdon and maybe scat hard. Ditto for May. Appleton can do well or poorly in any scenario so she does need to get in a good place before final lap. Your Hartman comment surprises me. 3rd in the 3000s could be in what was a very fast time just 2 years or so ago.
by the comment "enjoy seeing a chunk of the field take it to Hartman" the OP meant s/he would enjoy seeing a few others in the field race competitively with Hartman. The suggestion is that this would make for a more entertaining race. And it did.
Dwight with the botched 400m hurdles record call. Not his best night.
Didn't he mess up the Women's 4x100m, too? I think he got USC (So Cal) confused with South Carolina making the excuse that they changed uniform colors on him.

We will never know whether Hartman would have podiumed if she had only run the 5000m, without the 10000m from two days earlier in her legs. Maybe she will face a similar dilemma next year?
