For most of us, the sight of the Vice President practically begging for a thank-you card like an aggrieved grandma after Christmas is actively embarrassing. In the end, the breakdown of talks had to reflect a change of heart for the Trump administration; the pretext (not enough thank yous, too much "litigation" before the American media) was just too pathetic without that justification, even in the context of an almost overwhelmingly pathetic Trump administration. Either way, any half-sentient person can see this episode as another abject failure of what is already, by far, the most failure-ridden presidency in this country's history.

Zelenskyy shouldn’t waste his time in America. Most of the US aids are through free weapons, which the USA government is paying US weapon manufacturers to supply Ukraine, so Ukraine won’t see the money anyways. The congress is just playing a number game to fool the public
Instead Zelenskyy needs to secure the EU support, and open a channel to talk to Russia directly. The war is a lose-lose situation for both countries. If Putin has no good reason to continue, both sides will find an opportunity to stop. Zelensky violated a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia called the Minsk II accords which was an internationally recognized agreement and killed 14,000 people in 2014.
