Yes, the course for Camille's 100 mile world record was short, hence she did not get the record.
It is not easy to find and understand relevant rules, but this 2020 Canadian Running article makes it seem like IAU (International Association of Ultrarunners) adopted the World Athletics ban on shoes with over 40mm stack height:
According to this 2024 irunfar article: "the six-day mark is considered by the IAU as a world best performance" while the "nonprofit Global Organization of Multi-Day Ultramarathoners (GOMU)"
Questions: 1) Does IAU still not allow shoes with a stack height over 40mm? 2) Was Stine Rex wearing shoes with a 45mm stack height during her six day event?
If the answer to both those questions is yes, then it seems fair for Camille and Conor to argue that the rules should be applied and Stine's mark should not be recognized by the IAU as a world best performance.
My understanding is that GOMU may have separate rules, but it would seem strange that they would not follow the same rules as IAU.
Thank you for posting this. It seems that Conor and Camille are being persecuted for holding others to the same standards they are held to.

Not saying that you are Camille or Conor but it's weird that I get a lone downvote for providing the only information I could find about Stine Rex's shoe (that suggests it was perfectly legal- if you have more information then please enlighten us), and then a minute later this comment appears which seems to fall squarely within the 'everyone's persecuting me' narrative evident in Camille and Conor's responses thus far. Oh well, good luck with Spartathlon.

This post is unfortunately indicative of the level of intelligence that has brought us to this point and unjustly persecuted innocent people.

Ok I know for a fact that you must be one of them now, 'innocent people' with good hearts indeed. Getting a rough time, yes. Innocent? Come off it. Next you'll be saying Stine Rex used a VPN to make those wiki edits from your address

You have already been proven to be too indoctrinated by prior posts to see past your own nose, unfortunately. That’s a bit of a disability. Good luck with it.
What an insane take. I understand that it must be incredibly frustrating for Camille to have her record invalidated over a course change (that was of of her control) that resulted in her 100 mile record being 752 feet short. HOWEVER, that doesn't justify her and Conor's actions towards others, putting in enormous amounts of effort to discredit and invalidate fellow runners with similar goals. Imagine if they had instead put that effort into fixing what is clearly a broken system, even if that meant that Camille wouldn't be the one taking home the title for various records? The two of them have proven time and again that their only interests are solely in promoting themselves (even if it is at the expense of others) and not the community at large. For this, they should not be rewarded with salary level sponsorships and promotions from brands. If that is how they want to operate, they can fund themselves. Apologies are still due to the people they have wronged, but instead of accepting help and changing for the better, they are continuing to dig a deeper hole for themselves.

It seems you are Dead set on inflating both the actions that were taken and the effort(both in intent and magnitude) that was involved. This seems to be precisely the problem here.
With regards to changing systems - that’s easy to do…. Right?

Seriously, log off. Go have some tacos with your hair done. Get some professional help and regroup. You're not doing yourselves any favors arguing on letsrun.

There's a lot of good details in this interview that conflict with Conor's email. He said they reached out multiple times and also did receive replies which are described as "threatening."

People who commit an offense are in a poor position to tell others what the magnitude of the offense is. Wikipedia decides what violates their rules and what the penalty for doing so is. The runner's sponsor gets to decide what behavior is unacceptable for their brand representative and what action should be taken. And running fans get to decide how they rate the actions of someone who edits the pages of people who haven't harmed that someone, breaks Wiki's rules to do it even after being told the actions were unacceptable, actively works to discredit the achievements of others, and ultimately posts a passive-aggressive partial apology.
I'm not a keen ultra fan, so I probably won't pay attention to the matter after a few more days. But every time I see the names of the perpetrators in the future, my thoughts about them will not be positive. I don't pretend that reaction will, or should, matter to them.

It isn’t Camile or Connor. Go read the comments on irunfar’s weekly roundup from a few days ago and it will be obvious.

Oh, of course, there’s only one person who objects to the silliness that a handful of posters with their sock puppets have brought to this.LOL
1. This is bizarre behavior, especially from the ultra community. I don't know the top-level pros personally, but most seem to come across as near-perfect examples of sportsmanship. They want to win the right way, they respect their competitors, take bad days in stride, and cheer on others' successes. I can't imagine anyone else doing something like this.
2. Editing yours and competitors' wikipedia pages and lying about it is bad, but not the worst thing in the world. It's an embarrassment for the sport, and should be for Conor and Camille, but I don't think it's the same magnitude as, say, doping or course cutting. I'd be surprised if Kilian's been losing sleep over edits to his wikipedia page.
3. I think a genuine apology at the outset might have resolved this for most people who care. Conor's e-mail and Camille's post, to me, made this worse. Lots of excuses, probably not telling the full truth, zero acknowledgment or explanation, "we're the real victims here" tone... There are plenty of internet sites that explain how to apologize. (I don't know enough about Camille's apparent history of going after people who challenge her records. To me, that's a separate issue. I don't begrudge those folks their schadenfreude today).
