Well we were discussing the norwegian championships not international competitions.
You were specifically referring to the Norwegian championships but I thought we were discussing Jakob's general tactical approach. But what you are effectively conceding by confining the discussion to the national championships is that a dawdle followed by a one-lap sprint would only work for Jakob against inferior competition. I would agree with that.
Again, wrong. This was not a discussion about a general tactical approach, just some talk about how it would be interesting to see a slow jog followed by a kick at the national championship..

Best Guess: The field will probably be Jakob, the top 3 Kenyans in Reynold, Brian Komen and Tim, and then maybe Nader/Habz and some of the other best Italian/French/Belgian athletes.
London will be set up for the Brits to dominate with Kerr, Wightman, Gourley, Mills, Giles, and then they let in Nuguse, Nordas, Hocker, Mario and Hoare as potential spoilers.
Monaco should be lightning fast, and London might be entertaining to handicap everyone but Jakob/the Kenyans who's considered a legitimate contender.

Agree with Monaco, disagree with London, there isn't 1500m, only 3000m, you should add few more from London to Monaco.

If we go back to March 2019 you would be right -Jakob was out sprinted by Lewandowski. But since then the Norwegian has improved his 1500m by 3 sec -don’t think the 2023 Jakob would have had the same trouble. But in a 1100m jog he will of course be out sprinted by every athlete with a better 800m speed (yes even if only better 400m speed) than himself… The same goes for Kerr (but of course fewer to pass him if he has better 800m capacity than Jakob)…
