Holy christ Tim only 0.03 behind Jakob. Ingebrigtsen gets the 1500m WL with 3:29.74 and Tim 3:29.77. Nader with a great PB of 3:30.84
WTF. I swore Tim won that race. Kudos to both. Jakob looked like he was working extra hard. I wonder if Josh Kerr would have been able for such a quick turnaround after Eugene.
I think Jakob is racing himself into shape. It's not Josh's approach.
Yep... looking good for Josh. Pacing was good here too so it's a good indication of Jakob's fitness. Tim waited too long to charge. I keep saying this, but Jakob doesn't have an extra gear in the 1500. He's just very strong and can hold pace. Not going to be good enough with Kerr and Tim breathing down his neck.
Ran a second faster converted a week ago but this is the race that’s indicative of his fitness.
Lets see how it’s looking for josh in august, not may
Jakob is in trouble now...If he cannot find that extra gear that made him go 3:27, he will not win the olympics. His 5000m fitness is also questionable not sure if he is going to get double gold this year.
I'm a little bit surprised he ran this way. I thought he might have tried a different tactic, especially after having been in the US literally 4 days ago. Definitely a gritty win but I'm not sure if Kerr watches that and feels any less confident about his chances in Paris - let's just phrase it that way.

There was no extra gear for the 3:27 - it was simply all around more fitness and strength. He'll be fine in the 5k as the morons in the field will hand him a slow pace to blow them away in the last 600.

Troll, don´t rejoice too early! Let´s see how it goes if he runs DL Monaco. Roma wasn´t built in one day.

Nordas and McSweyn disappointed with both taking the last two places in 3:34 and 3:38, McSweyn needs to stick with the 5000m
I don't know how the Australian selectors could watch that race and pick McSweyn over Myers now. Would assume it's between Hunt & Myers now for that last spot.
i really don't know if Ingerbritsen won that 1500 meter race it looks like cheriout beat him by a split fraction of a second. There could be the issue of hometown favorite that gave him the edge.

I'm sure Kerr is happy about the lack of kick, but he's got Tim to worry about now. Kerr is going to have to show up to Paris with nerves of steel to run a clean race but fast enough race to take gold. I think a 3:28 is ideal for Kerr to mow down Jakob and hold off the likes of Tim.
