Agreed. As a College student, likely the fastest legit 1500m from an American, and 2nd to Mu in 800m. Astro, Armstronglivs, JeffT, etc. have proved that all Pro's are dirty, so only HS and College runners are clean.

What is really being proven here is that you have rocks in your head.
She beat Simpson's time. How is the fastest ever not close to being the fastest?
She did beat Simpson’s collegiate time. She did not beat Simpson’s lifetime best or the lifetime best of another 10 or so Americans. So not “fastest ever”.
Her choices are questionable for sure, but since I am not her and do not know the whole picture or really the truth of the situation, I can not say what choices are right or wrong. It is interesting how social media makes us "experts" in other people's lives with extreme amounts of judging and hypocrisy that I have never seen before.
Awesome stuff, go Addy! Heck of a program at Huntington!
Seriously? Huntington went from a good running school in their conference and above average nationally to one of the best nationally in a very short period of time led by a couple that we now know were sexually abusing runners and pushing PEDs. It seems that the new coach, Coach Roark is solid and honest, and I believe he is, but he and the school is now reaping the benefits of the period of cheating and abuse (in terms of success, which I'd think they'd gladly trade away to get back the reputation they had under Coach King). A successful program attracts good runners, and while it's incredibly difficult for a program to become very good it's much less difficult to maintain greatness. I am a Huntington XC alum and up until recently it was something I was proud of, I was proud to have have been a slightly above average runner working towards a goal with my teammates, and to have been one of dozens of runners doing the same over the decades, now I'm just sad that what was such a cool experience for me became a living hell for young women. Huntington may one day have the reputation they have always tried to cultivate but even with perfect behavior moving forward that reputation is a long ways off.
I have never met Ms. Wiley, and I have a hard time understanding if she was complicit, a victim, or a bystander or most likely all three in varying degrees but even if she made poor choices she is a basically a child and deserves forgiveness for anything. I follow her career and wish for it to go well and for her to be physically and mentally healthy but I not be "repping Huntington" with any sort of pride anytime soon.
If I were to quibble, I think you can still be proud of experience. I don't understand the collective position that because some bad things occurred there, now you are tainted as well.
Astro, I know all about this situation. As much (or more) than you, but I am not bragging about that. Such a waste of time, overall. I think it is very complicated with a lot of wayward motivations from many angles. I think you prefer black and white assessments and solutions. Your way is simpler, I admit that.
Thanks, I hear you. When meeting fellow runners past experience usually comes up early in the conversation. When I said I ran at Huntington most people had heard of it but had only a vague idea of where the school was or what kinda program they had, which is expected. Now most runners know HU and it’s current reputation, so when I say I ran there I have to follow up with saying I ran there under Coach King and it was way different back then. I’m not necessarily ashamed or proud I guess, it’s just different now.

i don't think everyone who ever played football at penn state is hanging their heads in shame - i'm sure they are proud of THEIR efforts and participation... you should be too
Yeah, immediately after I replied, I thought you probably meant exactly how you clarified (and I get it).
I appreciate your sentiment towards Wiley. She'll have some tough decisions to make pretty soon. As much as despise the idea of decisions being made (compelled?) by what appears to be at the behest of armchair QB's, it would be for the best for Lauren to basically kick Wiley out of the nest. Easier said than done, though.
