I was a huge fan of Mu and SML. Now I'm kind of hoping they lose in Paris. It's like: "Serves 'em right Try competing some time!"
We still have Femke Bol in the W400Mh and we have Mary Moraa and Keely Hodgkinson in the W800M, Bol might threaten 51 seconds and the 800M final will be a great race, could be in the 1:55s.....maybe 1:54 high.
It would be great if Bol just straight up, took down Sydney’s record.

It would be great. But as long as Sydney is with Kersee, her attitude and perception won't change. He must have really done a number on her.
I think the most annoying part is Mu and McLaughlin thinking people are stupid enough to believe that they are skipping so they can focus on the Olympics. It's also annoying because now we may never see Sydney break the America 400 record which is a crappy record. I'm guessing she'll go back to the hurdles next year.
In track & field, the world championships are a VERY big deal. This isn't like the NBA where it's not really a thing. The runner the fans wanted to see most drops out of the biggest meet of the year after training all year to chase a world record that's been on the books since 1985. She didn't race much this year because the coach was only focused on having her peaking during this meet. And now she's not running... that's a big deal.
They’re only a very big deal because we are told they are. It’s dumb to only have one week a year where track matters and treat the other 51 weeks like the off-season.

I’m sorry, but I’m rooting against her and Mu from here on out. It’s just so hard to root for these athletes that seem to think they’re better than the sport.
Either that or they’re doping. Neither is a good look.

I mentioned it in the other Sydney post… but let’s move on from her. She doesn’t wanna compete, so let’s stop talking about her and giving her the spotlight. Forget about her and Ayhing and let’s start supporting and talking about the athletes who are showing up to compete. If did and a thing choose not to complete, it’s time people stop talking about them and let’s hope their sponsors drop them so it’ll force some competitions.
if they can make bank by not showing up to race but once a year, they’ll continue doing it… time to cancel both of them and turn our attention, focus, media spotlight to the athletes showing up.
That’s a good idea and I like it. I will do my best to acknowledge and do this.
I’m done with both. They don’t seem to care about the sport outside of the mainstream Olympics.

No chance the 800 will be that fast. In fact, it's very possible that Keely cooked her goose this season by peaking too early. It'll be a tactical 1:56-7 at best. If Mu drops out, anything sub 1:57 is even less likely.
If Moraa takes the lead we know the playbook - 27-30-30pt-28pt for 1:56.5-1:57.5. Keely will have to be both patient and decisive. If she tries half-moves Moraa is going to block her. If she waits until the last 50 she better hope Moraa’s misjudged it.

I called this when Athing mysteriously withdrew - I told my friend I think there is a new drug test that has Kersee nervous and I said “just watch, I’ll bet Sydney quietly withdraws too.” I am not surprised, but I am sad.
The posts telling the truth are being deleted. Next year we’ll be seeing astounding performances from Kersee’s stable. The media will play it up as incredible triumphs over injury and racism.

You realize one got an injury and the other still might run as planned. Be honest, you made up your mind a long time ago.
Worlds is just not a big deal. If the best basketball players skipped the world championships, would you care?
She has nothing to prove. This is the right call.
Uh....the world's best basketball players are in the NBA and they don't skip the conference finals or NBA Finals to be 100% next year, for a minor injury.
