This could be her family car she uses for college or one she was gifted. But how much would she get in NIL?
It's not like she's a 5 star recruit / portal future first round NFL draft pick, and Huntington has a tiny endowment anyway without many famous alums. It's not like SEC boosters are giving her 'endorsement' deals where she'd appear once and make $50k, nor being given a great apartment for free combined with 7 figure NIL deals:
A month ago, defensive lineman Bear Alexander transferred from Georgia to USC.
On a side note, this made me wonder if athletes in certain sports at certain schools (i.e. lacrosse/hockey/soccer at Ivies and similar) are getting NIL to go there. While obviously their main reward is getting in rather than monetary, I know a very good athlete (this year, likely will be a fringe NCAA indoor qualifier based on his progression) who attends an "Ivy plus" college who told me that he has a couple of small-medium NIL deals where he does pretty much nothing, but an alum funds it as he was also a member of the team. So how much would a 14:30 high school athlete that's also a great student get?

There's no logic to amounts, as it depends solely on alums/boosters. Also it has nothing to do with being a good student. If a billionaire alum decides to do a $1million NIL for xc at alma mater for 10 guys, it's $100k/man. If a school pools donations and gives $10k to xc, then it's $1k/man. Or could be 0, and of course you can go out and drum up your own nil deals.
What I meant by 'good student' was able to be accepted as an athlete without running a sub 4 mile - so mid-upper 1300s and above.
I'd be curious though if a top 10 lacrosse player would, for example, get $20k a year to go to Yale rather than Princeton.
This would depend on how the ivy schools are managing NILs. 1st they would be offered need-based fin aid, generally pretty even across the ivies. Then they'd have possible school pooled nil, plus alumni sport specific nil, plus real nil from company to individual.
In theory using the nil as part of recruiting package is banned by NCAA, but absurd and very difficult to enforce. Ie. You're expected to make school choice, then when in place at school start seeking nil.
There's quite a bit of this in football and hoops, very little in other sports. I'm slightly connected and actually haven't heard of any specific actual ivy NILs yet. Texas a&m just temporarily shut down their big pooled nil do to an IRS ruling, but they'll be back when they figure out a new structure.
In general, I'm a big fan of LRC, rojo, etc, but I wholeheartedly agree with you that LRC screwed the pooch BIGTIME with how poorly they handled the situation, particularly when it comes to AW. It was so obvious from the outset that the Indy Star reporter was so desperate for attention. I almost feel bad for him but no amount of slanted reporting or self-promotion was going to elevate him to Ronan Farrow status. The guy was the epitome of "fake news" which uses some truth as a foundation to sell highly fictional and slanted stories. He earned his dismissal.
Rojo fell for it hook, line, and sinker, and there will always be tons of people who uncritically go along with the first and loudest story. Gossip, rumors and innuendo is a cornerstone of the LRC message board which is why a huge portion of elites have love/hate feelings toward the site. They all know that a lot, if not most, of the talk about the athletes and coaches should be heavily discounted. Since AW was in high school and not a public figure yet when this began to gain traction, she should have been protected far better here than she was. Of course, it was going to come out anyway to a certain extent, but LRC should have been (and should be)extremely vigilant to delete any post that associated her with all this mess or even implied doping without there being more than just association with shady characters and fast running. I bet there may be some looking to assess the amount in financial damages this failure caused and may reach out to represent AW as she never should have been dragged like she has been.
Regardless, props to AW on being able to impressively run through all of this with a genuine smile on her face. Very few could.
The above post needs to be viewed as Mark Felt dropping hints to Woodward and Berstein regarding Watergate. There is so much information in there that can EASILY be verified with a simple Google search. The problem is this site does not have journalists who are going to dig deep and try to uncover the truth. If it doesn't fit the narrative they want to promote (basically destroying Addy Wiley at all costs) then they will delete it.
I can tell you there is something else pertinent that is missing from that post that is quite interesting and a little disturbing. This was even publicly addressed by someone connected to this situation ... if someone wants to dig deep enough to find it.
The site has never really had a strong position on Wiley. Other than Woods story, no journalism has appeared here. The message board has been open to both sides of the discussion. Posts on both sides of argument have been deleted if excessive. Some posters have abused the auto delete function to have posts removed. I imagine this just keeps plodding along thru 2024 until a court resolution.

I would think that I would know what you're alluding to, but I am not sure that I do! No hints? (lol)

Sebastian Coe always refers to the eyeball test. Wiley passes it But if we're talking about strange recent performances, the one that jumped out at me was Kocak of Turkey winning the women's 1500 last week at European U20 Championships. That final 200 meters had no semblance of normalcy, especially considering the race schedules of Kocak and the silver medalist.
That runnerup had a pained look on her face after the race, as if she wasn't sure she had been in a fair race. It looked every bit of either DSD or doping.
After the same event in London 2012, Turkey has been one of the nations I am suspicious of, along with Uganda and Bahrain.
