Since I live a stone’s throw from Drake I took note of posters picking Basten as the winner indoors, outdoors and as their dark horse to make the U.S. team. That might be over for a while now.
Birnbaum being overmatched is no surprise but I really admire how he ran that race. I’m a fan and he’s got a bright future.
He didn't get smoked. I was super impressed by the guy. Ran a great race tactically. Run in last for 600 or so, then took the lead. I always said, "If you make a move, make it count."
Not impressed by the commentating. How did they not realize there would be no time qualifiers?I knew that 800 meters into the heat.
This is why I ALWAYS say that distance phenoms should not go pro out of high school. NCAA is great for developing tactics. Even if you're the most talented guy there.
An embarrassingly choppy feed. Almost unwatchable.
Hey when you are paying the CEO $3 million, you gotta save elsewhere.
Memo to USATF, if you can't handle the demand, stream it on youtube.
Rojo, you own one of the biggest running websites. You can literally write articles on how bad USATF keeps letting fans and athletes down while the CEO makes millions with zero consequences. Instead of writing a post on a random thread, maybe flex your website’s muscle and go after the problem. Any look into USATFs leadership, financials, mismanagement, bad decisions, etc. if done well, would be the easiest hit piece ever written. It would practically write itself. Look at how they botch the little things like their own streams, setting aside the fact they couldn’t secure any cohesive television coverage for their premier event. Forget how they routinely mess up timely announcements of events, standards, etc. the sketchiness of their sponsorship deals, how they’re administrative salaries have grown faster than revenues, I could go on. maybe you and team don’t want to risk losing press credentials at events, idk, but the fact that Siegle and the Board of Directors have basically gotten away with leeching on the USATF bank account is wild to me. Siegle spends more time on his racing team than his responsibilities at USATF. Look at his Twitter account. Guy doesn’t give a sh!t about track. Not even sure how he got hired in the first place.
