Barringer ran 15:05 in Stockholm the summer after her senior year of track, before she went pro. Unclear why that wasn't the outdoor record prior to tonight.

Collegiate #2 behind Simpson's 15:01.70, was on pace until about 4200 meters then fell apart on the penultimate lap. I think she missed her chance at the record now since the temperatures will be rising. Only legitimate shot she has is at USATFs.
You did. of course know that she ran her record 4:34 HS mile in 95 degree weather! She loves the heat! Deal with it!

Because it was after the NCAA season ended.
That's such a ridiculous hill for E. Garry Hill and those other fart-sniffers at T&FN to die on. I would love to hear how Stockholm (which Barringer won) was fundamentally different from the meet tonight, which also included pro athletes ... or Millrose or Dr. Sander.
Did 18 year old aussie Amy Bunnage run faster than the USA High school record. 15:21 for the Stanford recruit. Hollingsworth winning 1500m B heat was pretty good as well.
I'm curious to see how Krissy Gear does - I think this is her first steeple race as a pro. She has been running very well lately. And McCabe is added now, exciting.
Gear FTW . She had the kick. 9:23.55, PB. Wayment second, 9:24.39
Life got in the way, I missed all the races and just checked the W 3000SC splits. Appears that Gear closed like a rocket, but was Wayment coasting, getting sloppy at the end?
Understandable if some McCabe supporters are losing their minds tonight, their ace quietly becoming the Claude Rains of collegiate distance running, yet still believing she could've nicked a win in 9:23.43 with a textbook shift-to-drive-phase in the final 40m.

Not sure what is going on with McCabe, injury?
Wayment led most all of the race and had a good lead, but Gear just ran her down with closing speed and Wayment wasn't closing that hard on her last lap. Gear really overtook her right at the end.
