Woke Visa commercial tried to be “inclusive” by sharing the stories of people who have gone through adversity to get to the Olympics. One subject went through 12 rounds of Chemo, another is an amputee who started snowboarding with a prosthetic leg, and the other suffered through….being black. The girl says “I’m African American and I’m surrounded by people who aren’t”. Is being black a disability now? In fact, is this woman a racist for objecting to the fact that others around her have different skin colors from her own? Why does Visa have to tell people that being black is a massive negative obstacle that one has to overcome? The message I was received from this commerical was: The disadvantages of each scenario ( as it may be) and the obstacles you have to overcome.

I googled this commercial after watching it on tv to see if anyone found the comparison very bizarre and pretty offensive on both ends of the spectrum. How in the world did this get green lit
