Because they realise that most of the time things are fine, that there are unusual situations that aren't representative?
It's like saying why would anyone work with/be around men - they are responsible for what % of crimes/assaults? When there's a shooting on the news... then it reveals who it is, what gender is it? They are the reason some women are scared to walk home at midnight, go to a party, be on a bus alone, etc. You could say 'why would anyone work with/be around men voluntarily'. But people try to see past that and realise most men don't do these things.
Yes what she's doing (20 million) may be an over-reaction, but it just seems like all of this is an attempt to detract from what happened in the first place, she alleges he emotionally abused her.
Personally, I'd rather there be more focus on the cases of physical and sexual abuse, because there are so so many and the people who go through these situations rarely get any kind of compensation, let alone 20 million. They are just left to it.
I don't have an issue with the weight thing/comments but I do have an issue with how it was done, if it was done in front of other people in an attempt to humiliate. Why not do it a better way?
