How should an athlete show their individuality? Can they not be expressive in their own way? It seems like a women expressing her self with her style and her attitude is a threat to most of LRs posters.
A threat? Not even close to the truth.
I find her embarrassing to the sport. I guess I have hopes that the great athletes will also be great people, with class and intelligence. Listening to he flap her lips with the big blond wig and huge fake nails and eyelashes etc. is like a clown. Then add the tatoos and there you go, no respect for that person, don't care how fast she runs.
I have always respected "act like you've been there before" Barry Sanders, the guy was a great athlete and a class act. He should be the role model.
I suggest you read the actual transcript of her words posted earlier in this thread as well as on LR. There’s nothing unclassy or unintelligent about it. I don’t expect athletes to be very intelligent. I want to be amazed by the magic in their performance.
I suspect you have no problem with Sydney M’s equally gaudy nails or makeup eyelashes. No problem with Lamont Jacobs and many other athletes’ tattoos. And the Jamaican powerhouse lady sprinters’ peacock shrill hair styles.
If you “don’t care how fast she runs”, why does a young black lez girl expressing herself like many others do make you lose all respect for her? Maybe she and her girlfriend like it. I can at least begin to understand (but not really) if in your respect system, the athlete gets to peacock up in makeup only if they also perform like a champ, but you sound like you lose respect for that makeup just in SCR, not others, irrespective of her performance.
