Was Lieberman high when he gave that quote? How much did RY pay him to say that? My form is way better than rob's and Lieberman would definitely point out a lot of flaws.

I think earlier someone posted the coordinates for the time frame and he was going at about an 8:30 pace, about 7 mph.

100% they did this for show. Like you said, nobody checks their watch that much, and especially on a trans-america run, the only focus is on miles covered, why would you check your pace? Especially if he is straining that much. Ultra running is done at talking pace, right?

Fossilized deep in the early strata of this thread is a link to an article that mentions he was starting at 190 lbs and planned to drop a couple stones over the first several weeks.

I can find no 24-hour results for him listed either on ultrasignup or on statistik.d-u-v.org, the two places results should be.

You are right, 139 is respectable, but not spectacular. It would not be good enough to make the US National Team most years (yes, LRers, we may not have ultras in the Olympics, but there are actually World Championships). It could, however, well be consistent for someone whose true strength is at multiday races.

FWIW Connie has not quite hit 150. Her PR is 149.37, at age 49 (4th-best ever American performance, and an age-group American Record).

Yeah I highly doubt that this actually happened. Either he wasn't at the trans america thing for a whole, or didn't run the marathon.
