National rebirth is the idea the nation has decayed or descended into decadence to the extent it needs to return to a previous point in history. Instead of being forward thinking, fascist movements always look to myths about the past. Make America Great Again is an example of that.
It's fine to believe in autarky. But if autarky is part of a set of beliefs that coincide with other ideas that are also associated with fascism, then people will begin to think that movement is fascist.
