STEPHENVILLLE, Texas — Tarleton State Track and Field new head coach Bobby Carter has announced the addition of Timothy "Coach T" Thompson to his staff ahead of
When is Georgia State going to announce? Is Ricardo Page really taking over a program that didn't register a throw or multi event mark this past outdoor?
These are the comments that are not needed! You have no clue why he left and Therese no need to bash on coaches on here! Be better.
These are comments that do more to help shady individuals than they do to help the sport of college track. Sometimes people have more of a clue than you do and sometimes there is good reason to bash a coach.

There is never a good reason for coaches to bash other coaches online behind a computer. Most people hear rumors and then spread them more! So just stop!

I've been coming on here for nearly 20 years. I've seen coaches bashed before they were caught for what they were bashed for many many many many times and I believe if it wasn't for this ability to speak opnely, they may never have been caught (sleeping with athletes, former athletes, causing (or forcing) eating disorders, abusive behavior. and so forth and so on. LRC has helped bring the light to a lot of things. So stop saying we should be spreading rainbows and sunshine, because where there is smoke, there is fire.

The fact that some people spread rumors does not mean that we should suppress the truth. Ever. In any context.
Obviously people shouldn't spread rumors. But coaches on here tell the truth far more than you clearly believe. You seem to believe they wouldn't make these claims if not "online behind a computer" - would you openly call them a liar if you weren't online behind a computer, too?

Letsrun is also a place where anyone with an agenda can lie about coaches without being held responsible. It's a place where low character athletes, assistant coaches that want the head coaches job, rival coaches from other schools that want to damage a coach and programs reputation to gain an advantage in recruiting and competition, and more can make up an anonymous name(s) and say whatever they want.
You are right there have been times that a coaches bad behavior has been exposed. But there have also been times when good coaches have been damaged and nobody can be held accountable for that unfair damage. There really is no way to erase that damage once it has been posted, it's permanent.
There are other more effective ways to deal with abusive coaches. They require a little more maturity and courage, but they are fair and less likely to permanently damage the innocent. Posting things on an anonymous message board is immature and irresponsible, and should not be the way or place to deal with this stuff.

I've been here for longer than that, and I mostly agree, but let's be honest and call it a less than perfect measure. I can think of plenty of times where a single voice said something defamatory and a) nothing ever came of it and b) nobody else backed it up.
For every person that has been rightly ousted from the ranks there are plenty of people who have had mud slung in their direction with no real wrongdoing.
Any word on Connor Mahoney Ashberry? Heard he is to Samford but also heard EMU showed interest
Here’s what I know about Cash; he’s a hot headed, ill-tempered coach who’s his own worst enemy. At meets he’s borderline feral, screaming, sweating, kicking sh*t, if a program doesn’t have a crazy guy like cash and they aren’t used to him, they might have a hard time. He’ll pull you aside and rip into you if he has the chance. Nobody should hire this man.

He's just passionate. Dude loves the game. Going to bring Samford to the top
Some of these coaches need bashing. There shouldn’t be a revolving cycle of bad coaches across the NCAA. It’s like a gentleman’s good ole boy club to some extent.
The NCAA needs to operate like the real world. Bad coaches that fail and treat athletes poorly shouldn’t get multiple chances. It’s a sad cycle.

The Georgia State administration doesn't know the difference between shot put, 10k, or 100m. They just want a babysitter for track while the football team continues to drain money from the athletic department.

As someone who directly talked with staff at CIU, I can say that the comment was 100% justified. We don't need to sheepishly clap for every job hire if the person is giving a bad name to our profession. What's the point of accountability if a coach shows terrible judgment and character then can just hop onto another gig because his friend is there.
I agree a lot of the negative comments on here are people bitter they didn't get a job or have some personal gripe but you can't dismiss every negative comment as just toxic. Hopefully it at least makes someone think twice and do their due diligence on someone before they hire them and save some athletes potentially life long damage and trauma.

Since him and the head seem to be friends it unfortunately looks like Tarleton knew the situation and didn't really care.
CIU's women's team looks like they were solid on the sprints but they were not world beaters it seems.
Very weird to get your first director job then make this guy the head of your sprints program
