I don’t know a single Trump voter who actually likes the guy. Then again, I don’t know a single voter who actually likes or respects Harris. And respect is part of the problem.
It’s rare for a party to win a third term in the White House, plus there’s a lot of inherent unlikability towards Hillary Clinton, so she had her work cut out for her. Add to that, there are some voters that won’t vote for a woman to be president no matter what. And it still came down to 80,000 votes across Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
Trump won the primary in 2016 by being an aśshole. He was an unashamed jerk towards liberals who had no desire to court their votes or govern toward the middle and that core constituency has never wavered.
