Wowsers is not correct. You can have six volunteer coaches max per program. Then you can add a 7th volunteer coach if they only work with pole vault. You are only allowed 6 paid coaches. no exception for pole vault on the paid side.
So they have seven people total between Cross Country and Track?
What’s crazy is when the release was posted, they had another coach listed (in addition to the four listed in the release), JaMichael Glass. It said he would be working with sprints and hurdles. So that would be 8 coaches for 6 countable positions? These coaches are new to the SEC - another program catches wind and they will turn them in really quickly.

You guys haven’t been paying much attention the last few pages have you? I’m sure any over the currently allowable 6 are being classified as “positions with non-coaching responsibilities” just like Florida State’s army of “ops & recruiting interns”…but when the SEC finishes rewriting NCAA rules, these guys will be ready to “take on coaching responsibilities”
Surprised they didn’t bring backJim B Miller or Rusty Johnson… two of the greatest NCAA vault coaches, both live in Knoxville I believe and have been a big one art if keeping the program afloat through all the dud head coaches.

Any word on the staff BAS is bringing in? Old staff canned? Id bet nothing gets posted. As a track fan close to Storrs I’m curious to see how this hire shakes out.
