I am not "religious"- I don't cross myself like some MLB batters do when stepping up to the plate, nor point to the sky like Tim Tebow but when asked about my faith, I will always mention that Christ is Lord and Savior.
I simply believe that God is real, that He created the universe and sent His son to die for us so that we can have eternal life.
That’s bad. You are transgressing against the third commandment.
Incorrect!
I have not used the Lord's name in vain. Others in this thread have done that.
but you support with all your soul a guy who has broken every one of the 10 commandments. Willingly. Repeatedly. I don't quite understand.
Maybe he obeys the first commandment. We only believe in one god these days, not the multiple gods of early judaism.
But certainly the other 9 he has broken over and over, repeatedly, with zero remorse or sign of repentance. Do you consider trump a christian despite his ignoring the 10 commandments and not asking for forgiveness?
You shall have no other gods before Me. You shall not make idols. You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Honor your father and your mother. You shall not murder. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. You shall not covet.
The Israelites were commanded to believe in one God from the very beginning with Abraham. The idolatry of the Israelites was dealt with harshly throughout the OT. As for Trump, I have no idea if he's a born again Christian. I do know that Franklin Graham, who is born again, has advised him on spiritual matters.
I voted for his platform not for his personal life. All Trump supporters will agree with my statement.
When you are quoting the Bible and celebrating the Easter while promoting Trump, you are creating false equivalence between biblical truths and your personal choice. People are turned away because of your behavior. Stay within your belief that Trump is best for America, and you voted for Trump so you can pay less tax. This has nothing to do with Christian faith. Do not ever quote the Bible in this thread again.

not true that the israeltes were commanded to believe in only one god. Slightly different: They were commanded to acknowledge two things: that their god was just one entity (not multiple entities like the greeks and romans), and that he was the most powerful god among all the other gods circulating in the Levant at the time. Not that he was the *only* god.
The idea that American political christians consider the trump platform to be more christian than the democratic platform will forever shame them and their religion.
There is next to zero doubt that if Christ and his apostles had to choose either Trump or Harris, they would have chosen Harris. You know, helping the poor, charity, turning the other cheek, making room at the Inn, kindness, the whole 10 commandments thing. Etc.
Trump is closer to the corrupt and violent romans in this story.
Except on abortion. Christ and the apostles probably would agree with the Rs on that one.

At this point in your life, Christ's Kingdom is not for you. You have rejected Him- that is your decision. I do hope you have a change of heart.
I reject the magic sky fairy? Thank. F*cking. God! I hope you have a change of intelligence and realize believing in a magic sky fairy is right up there with believing in unicorns and yetis on the “belong in an asylum” spectrum.
I'm beginning to wonder if this is Ginamator. These replies are very Ginamator sounding.

Free speech is our 1st amendment right. You don't have to agree with what I say nor do I have to agree with yours. I will however, defend your right to speak. ALWAYS
What is interesting now is when my country's journalists ask Americans who have moved abroad after Trump came back as president- they don't dare to speak due to fear of what will happen. This is not how a democracy should run.
It isn't a democracy just because people can vote. If lawyers, physicians and other normal people don't dare to speak then there is no democracy. I even hear that other Republicans don't dare to criticise Trump. Sounds like North Korea....
a right wing US senator said she and other republicans are too scared of trumpers to vote against trump. That's how democracies die.
Liz ought to give Lisa a call and tell her that she’s still alive and doing fine. And that Lisa ought to get a backbone installed, or resign.

Deal with it.
Due process is the 5th amendment right of everyone in the United States. Will you defend that right too?

Those other "gods" were idols which people outside of the 12 Tribes of Israel worshipped. Again and again, God demonstrated His power over other "gods" in the OT.
Moses, David, Daniel, Elijah for example all demonstrated the power of God in dire circumstances.
God commanded His people to never worship idols.
Comparing Trump to the Romans is laughable. Did he persecute Jews too? He has Jewish grandkids. C'mon man.
“Trump is closer to the corrupt and violent romans in this story.”
But Biden was closer to Caligula.
biden? the straight arrow guy who held his family together after multiple tragedies and never divorced and stayed married for decades?
I think you mean trump is caligula-esque, who had 5 kids with three women, two divorces (so far) and that trump cheated publicly on every one of his wives. And of course trump was best friends with Jeffrey Epstein.

nah, that's just not correct. It's perfectly clear from the ancient texts that Yahweh acknowledged the existence of many other gods, but Yahweh was himself the most powerful. They weren't idols...they were actual divinities.
I think we can all see the similarities between trump and decadent, cruel and greedy roman emperors who smashed the Roman Republic in favor of a monarchy. Trump is in the process of smashing our republic so he can rule unapposed. And of course the cruelty of trump was present in the roman emperors too.

He showered with Ashley. And go look how Hunter turned out.
I’m happy to say that I don’t know much about evangelical churches (aside from the essentially perfect hypocrisy). But do they have “updated” depictions of Jesus that DON’T make him look like a guy who would NEVER, EVER vote for Trump, or anyone close to him?
You know, someone who looks way more like Pete Hegseth or Speaker Johnson?

The problem with evangelical churches is that they want state power.
And history shows that every time Christians have state power, they start burning people at the stake.
