Brilliant comment under Cram's column:
"4:40 for the mile? Give the chap a British passport - he'd make the next Olympic squad no probs. Pissed or otherwise."
For the kids out there, pissed is British slang for drunk.

That would be wiser wouldn't it? Steve Cram'spoint of view comes from athletes'perspective in which athletes should get on letsrun.com to chat with us;however, you don't find most of athletes in this chat-room.
One could hear how they feel about running in general, So I think I do feel I'm the only athlete sitting in the chat-room discussing with you guys.

My hip is not bad just my rifgt hamstrings with a sharp pain acting up when bend over and kick.
I'm incoorporating my training with strengthen the upper body. What I called Extreme Home Fitness.Team Rono Gym and Team Rono Nutrition.
What I do is core exercises for the length of 90 days.I have been doing this section in the last 7 days.So basically I have three sections of training sometimes a week.Strength training in the upper body is important for this old guy.
That way I can run all-day without getting tired.I notice I'm getting tired sometimes on the upper body.Because there is fat sitting on my shoulders and abds.
I'm developing new ideas and the reason is to get that mile record right! In front of me.

Easy to answer. Your recollection is incorrect.
if I could somehow get the results of the open 3 mile from the Texas Relays in 1974, I think that was it.
or...it could have been the open 3 mile at the Kansas Relays, in '77. Now I'm getting myself confused; old age dementia.
